Philadelphia
"Your prints should be ready in a few weeks for pick up." I said over the phone. "You're welcome, goodbye."
"That little shit!"
Matt and I both turned our heads to look over at Emilee sitting at her desk.
"Everything okay?" Matt asked.
"Vinny!"
"Current drummer for MIW." I said, chuckling a bit.
"He's posting all over social media and can't reply back to me! He could let me know he's okay."
"Chill." I said, raising my voice a little.
"He's probably at soundcheck or getting some rest before the show tonight." I said. "Just calm down."Emilee sighed, throwing her head back and groaned loudly. Matt walked over and gently rubbed her shoulders, trying to calm her.
"Can I kill him?"
"No." I replied, shaking my head in disagreement.
My phone began ringing with an unknown number, so this meant it was a customer and customers mean business.
"Johnson Photography, this is Brianne." I answered.
"Hi, this is Susan, I booked you for an outdoor shoot for my daughter's engagement. Well I have to cancel, the whole engagement and wedding is off."
"I'm sorry to hear that. Well if you ever need a photographer, please don't hesitate to call back."
"I'll keep that in mind, thank you."
I put down my phone and sighed. "Well that's great. She cancelled and now I don't have any work."
"Emilee, are you scheduled?" Matt asked.
"Not until tomorrow."
Matt looked over and smiled at me and then smiled back over at Emilee.
"What?"
"We're all free, so you know what that means? You guys can take a road trip to see your men!"
"Yes! I'm in!" Emilee cheered, jumping up from her desk. "Let's go!"
"We can't leave."
"Oh come on, Brianne. We basically have a free day, it's Monday and no one's really been here, so..."
"And I need to beat up my boyfriend."
"Oh this I have to see." Matt laughed, gathering up his things.
"We have phones if people need to contact us." Emilee said. "Plus you'll be surprising Ryan, think how happy he'll be."
"I'm more concerned about Vinny."
"She wouldn't hurt a fly. Come on, Brianne, do it for your husband." Matt pleaded. "Emilee and I both know how much you miss him."
"Okay." I sighed. "Emilee, do you have to use the bathroom before we get on the road?"
"Nope." She smiled, picking up her things as she skipped to the door.
I locked up the studio for the evening and got into my car, Emilee getting in shortly after me. I started the car up and we headed for Philly.
"Wait, what about your car?"
"I'll catch the bus in the morning, but that's beside the point, let's go!"
Two hours in the car with her might just make me lose my damn mind.
