Marabella sent a message to her grandmother. It wasn't a cry for help but more so a note telling her about what was to happen. Julietta wasn't surprised and she knew it was coming but in a split second, she decided to turn on her destiny. If anyone could interrupt a war it was Julietta Goldwood. So she left her home for the first time in decades.
Hogwarts was in ruins and it was obvious to see that Tom had done it. Julietta could feel the magic wanting to escape from her body. It made her hair stand up on end and it made shivers run down her spine. She made her way to the entrance of the school where two sides were faced off against each other. Everyone paused as she entered. Instantly she was noticed as Julietta Goldwood as she had become even more famous over the years. "Grandaughter, you called upon me," commented Julietta as she embraced Marabella.
Tom and Julietta's eyes met and the both of them wanted to run to each other but they controlled themselves. Julietta lifted her hand causing every wand to fly up a few meters and away from the person who owned it. "Thomas, come home. Just let them play their little games. Let them have this world and we can have ours." said Julietta as she made her way to him. With a wave of her hand, his old face had returned. Tom laid his hand in hers as he made his choice. The two began to leave with peace when somebody shouted: "My Lord, you can't just abandon the cause for some girl."
This caused Julietta to turn around in a fit of rage. She grabbed the Death Eater by his neck. She walked him to the edge of the cliff and she let him dangle. She let the man think he would die. She let his family in the crowd beg and plead for him to be saved. After a few long minutes had passed she threw the man against a wall. He would live but he would never dare to question Julietta Goldwood again. "I will let him live because I take a merciful approach but remember this. I know who would have won this war. I know exactly how it was going to play out if I had not intervened. That is why I stopped this. Now go home, be with your families, and mourn their deaths. Remember that I could kill you all if I wished it. Do not test me. Now Potter stop pretending to be dead!" The wands returned to pockets and hands.
The war was over thanks to Julietta. As she walked away with Tom on her arm she was happy. "Would I have won?" asked Tom and Julietta nodded. It was a lie but Tom never had to know. The world didn't need Lord Voldemort. The world had a use for Tom Riddle, his books were loved. It was Julietta that needed Tom Riddle though. Relationships were healthier when partners were independent but that was not these two. They needed each other to survive. One could not be without the other. Maybe that was the selfish reason behind stopping the war. Maybe she did it to save them instead of all the people that would have died that day.
It was a few months later and the couple was in bed. Julietta's head lay on Tom's bare chest while Tom ran his fingers through her long white hair. "Why did I not come with you all those years ago?" asked Tom and Julietta responded "Because as smart as you may be when it comes to love you are foolish. We could have had this for years but instead, you started a race war." So that is how the two spent the day. That is how the two spent an eternity on The Peculiar just bathing in each others company.
