Athos X Reader: Confessions (One-Shot!)

The Musketeers were on their way to France to deliver Bonnaire to the king. Porthos had been badly injured by one of Bonnaire's business partner's men and Athos knew a place to take him so Aramis could tend to his wound.

You were one of The Musketeers most trusted friend, after Aramis had tended to Porthos wound, everyone headed out to continue their journey to Paris.

But Athos went missing, you remember that he had mentioned that he had owned the house; you got onto your house and road toward there hoping you would find him there.

When you arrived, you got off your horse and walked inside seeing Athos sitting on the floor leaning against a dresser with a bottle of wine in his hands.

"Athos?" You looked at him concerned and knelt down in front of him.

Athos was completely out of it, he looked like he was about to pass out.

"How much have you had?" You asked taking the bottle of wine from him, you helped him stand up but he pushed you away and took the bottle from you walking down the hallway.

"Athos, what the bloody hell are you doing?" You asked watching him stumble up to some paintings.

He screamed angrily and through a bottle of wine at the painting of himself.

You flinched and watched him walk down the hallway.

The house was huge and you ended up losing him, "Athos?" You called, you heard footsteps, you took out your musket and peeked around the corner.

You saw a beautiful woman with dark hair and green eyes; she was holding a dagger to Athos's neck.

You stepped out from behind the corner and walked down the hallway pointing your musket at the woman, "Step away from him" You said sternly.

The woman simply laughed, "I hope you both burn and die in here" She smirked before running off.

You saw some curtains on fire as well as the dining table, "We must get out of here" You said.

You pulled Athos out of the burning house and pulled out your waterskin and dumped some water on him, "Athos?" You gently shook him.

Athos fell to his knees, his eyes were beat red.

"My wife was a murderer, a traitor; she died five years ago... I saw her (Y/N)! She's alive!" Athos cried, "I had her hanged from a branch, I obeyed the law! I had to watch my wife get hanged!" Athos stared at you.

"Oh Athos..." You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled the crying man close.

Athos sobbed heavily into your shoulder, "She betrayed me (Y/N)!" Athos cried.

You couldn't believe that Athos was openly sobbing in front of you, yes he was drunk but you felt rather bad for him.

"Come on Athos... You're drunk..." You tried to help him up.

"Leave me be!" Athos shouted, "Why are you even with The Musketeers?!" Athos asked.

"I owe a debt to each and every one of you, especially you Athos..." You muttered softly.

"You don't owe a debt to me..." Athos mumbled.

"Do you know how many times you have saved my life? How many times you have gotten me out trouble?" You hugged Athos.

"A lot..." Athos mumbled.

You hoped Athos wouldn't remember this night because he was so drunk, you thought that maybe you could take it to your advantage and confess something to Athos.

"Can I tell you something?" You asked gently pulling him toward your horse.

"Anything..." Athos mumbled.

"I'm in love with you Athos..." You muttered softly and turned looking at him, you wondered what his reaction would be.

He was a rather quiet drunk and just nodded.

"You don't have anything to say about that?" You asked looking at him curiously.

Athos simply ignored you.

You sighed sadly and climbed onto your house, Athos managed to climb onto the back of your horse; he gently wrapped his arms around your waist as you two road off into the distance.

The next day

You slowly opened your eyes only in your bedroom gown; you sat up and saw a blurry figure looking at your window. You sat up seeing Athos, but he wasn't in his uniform.

"Athos?" You quickly covered yourself with your sheets; you were only in your night gown.

"I'm sorry to intrude, but I had to speak with you before the others awoke..." Athos turned and looked at you.

"About what?" You asked looking at him curiously.

"You must not speak to anyone else about what happened last night" Athos said sternly.

"Of course Athos... I will not tell a soul" You muttered softly.

"You're confession.... Was that true?" Athos asked.

You slowly nodded, "If you don't feel the same way... I completely understand, you don't need to explain yourself..." You muttered softly getting out of bed.

Athos quickly turned away.

"What?" You asked looking at him confused.

"You're naked..." Athos muttered softly.

"Naked? I'm in my night gown..." You said slipping on some leather pants, you weren't very lady like, you didn't have your girly moments but you were more like one of the guys.

Athos chuckled slightly and turned away when you took off your night gown and slipped on a shirt.

"So everything goes back to normal right?" You asked putting on a corset and tying it tightly in the front before slipping on a leather jacket.

Athos was silent and walked over to you.

"Please don't tell me you saw my breasts? I know, they're not the prettiest" You said.

Athos smiled at the floor, "You're breasts are rather nice, but please let me continue" Athos begged.

"Continue then, forget about what I said about my breasts..." You giggled slightly.

Athos nodded and turned you around and gently wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you toward him.

"Athos? What are you...", Athos leaned in and gently pressed his lips against yours.

You looked at Athos shocked but looked deeply into his crystal blue eyes; you slowly closed your eyes kissing back.

He slowly pulled back and walked toward the door, "You must not speak of this" Athos muttered softly.

"What was that for?" You asked looking at Athos curiously.

"What was what for?" Athos asked walking out of your room closing the door behind him.

You peeked out of your room and saw Athos put on his hat, bow and wink at you before leaving your house.

You ran out the door and grabbed Athos kissing him passionately.

Prothos looked at Aramis, they both chuckled as Athos grinned and walked downstairs looking at the two men.

"Shut up..." He mumbled under his breath, "What are you two looking at? Let's get a move on ladies" You said putting on your hat walking away. The rest of The Musketeers smiled and followed you.
