Past!Future!Charles X Reader: Don't Let Her Go (One-Shot!)

1962

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters

You looked at Charles sadly as he screamed at you angrily, Charles was breaking your heart; you had never seen him this angry before. You were about to speak when Charles grabbed you and pinned you against the wall.

"We're done (Y/N)!" Charles said sternly before pulling away, "I'm done with you and all your bloody crap!" Charles shouted before storming out of the room.

"Charles..." You whimpered as tears streamed down you're cheeks, "Don't leave me..." You begged and slid to the floor sobbing heavily.

1980

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters had been closed down; Charles had lost all hope and spent most days in his room drinking his sorrows away. You walked out of your room and saw Hank standing in the hallway pacing back and forth.

"(Y/N)! Please go in there and get him to come out... Please" Hank begged looking at you worried, he looked down and sighed.

"Why would he want to talk to me?" You asked looking at Hank sadly, "Charles Xavier hates me... We broke up a long time ago..." You sighed.

"He doesn't hate you, he still considers you a friend" Hank gently patted your shoulder.

You took a deep breath and opened the door walking into Charles room; you closed the door behind you and turned around looking at Charles who was slumped on the couch in his robe with a glass of scotch in in his right hand.

"What are you doing in here?" Charles asked looking at you confused.

"We need to talk Charles, about what we had..." You tried your best to hold back your tears.

"There's nothing to talk about" Charles said coldly.

"There's a lot to talk about Charles! What did I do wrong? You never told me what I did wrong... Why you broke up with me" You took a step toward him.

Charles stood up, "You cheated on me with my best friend!" Charles shouted angrily.

You looked at Charles shocked, "Cheated on you?! Erik kissed me that's it! I woke up from a nightmares and he kissed me! Then I slapped him, why do you think he had a bruise on his cheek?!" You shouted back.

"That's a load of shit! You cheated on him! Raven told me!" Charles growled angrily.

"Of course because you always believe everything Raven tells you!" You slapped Charles, "I love you with all my heart, I would never, ever! Even think of cheating on you Charles Xavier!" You said sternly.

"Get out now!" Charles shouted.

"Fine!" You screamed and walked out of the room, you pushed pass Hank and ran to your room, you slammed the door behind you and fell to the floor sobbing. 

Charles screamed angrily and began throwing things around the room, he took a few deep breathes, he gasped noticing his vision began to blur, he closed his eyes and when he opened them he found himself in an unrecognizable place.

An old man sitting a wheelchair looked at his younger self standing feet away from him, "I'm Charles Xavier, from the future, we do not have much time" Future Charles explained.

Charles looked surprised, "I'm you?" Past Charles asked.

Future Charles nodded, "I must tell you something, it is very important" He said sternly, "Don't let go of her" Charles said.

"What? Who?" Past Charles asked.

"(Y/N), don't let her go, I'm telling you now you will regret it for the rest of your life, you must trust me, she never cheated on us with Erik..." Future Charles watched his younger self walk up to him.

"Raven told me she cheated on us... She's hurt us too much, she doesn't deserve a second chance" Past Charles said sternly.

"You know deep down she didn't do it, she would never ever think of hurting us" Future Charles looked deeply into the younger man's eyes, "Raven wasn't telling the truth" He sighed.

"Raven would never lie to us" Past Charles sighed sadly; "You couldn't have come back just to tell me this" Charles looked at his older self curiously.

"Trying to read my mind" Future Charles chuckled.

Past Charles gasped; "You're actually from the future" He looked utterly shocked.

Future Charles nodded, "We're out of time I'm afraid, you will be back in your room, then you must go straight to (Y/N) and apologize to her, take her back Charles" Future Charles pleaded as he slowly began to fade.

Charles gasped and looked around finding himself back in his room; he got up and rushed out of his room. She's going to kill herself Charles, you must apologize to her, Charles heard his own but older voice in his head.

Charles ran toward your room and burst through the door seeing you sitting at the foot of your bed sobbing heavily.

In the future, she saves many people's lives, she's a hero and everyone needs her, we need her. 

Charles walked up to you and knelt down in front of you; he leaned in and kissed you deeply.

You pushed Charles away looking at him confused, "Just a moment ago, you wanted nothing to do with me..." You sniffled.

"I love you..." Charles whispered lovingly grasping your hand, "I don't know what came over me... I'm so sorry" Charles looked down sadly.

"Why do you always believe what Raven says even though she betrayed us by leaving?" You sighed.

"Someone very close told me that Raven can't be trusted..." Charles said looking deeply into your eyes, "I promise never to burst out like that again, please me mine once more" Charles begged.

"Only if you promise to come to me first and ask, don't just assume because of what others might think..." You muttered softly. "I promise" Charles smiled softly and kissed your forehead; he pulled you into a loving hug and just held you close to him.

Present

Charles rolled into his office and saw you, his wife, sitting down at his desk reading a book. He smiled softly as you noticing you were reading a book; you looked up and smiled standing up putting your book face down on the desk.

"What are you doing in my office Mrs. Xavier?" Charles asked watching you walk over to him, you kissed his cheek lovingly.

"Observing Professor Xavier" You replied and grasped the handles on the back of Charles wheelchair and rolled him out of his office, "So this is your school, amazing" You looked around and saw students rush to their classes

"How was Africa?" Charles asked.

"Beautiful, such an amazing country, I'm glad to be back... I missed you so much" You rolled Charles out onto the balcony.

Charles lovingly grasped your hand and looked out onto the garden, "I'm so glad I found such a beautiful and intelligent woman like you... I'm so lucky to have you, I can't believe I almost lost you over a foolish little rumor" Charles smiled.

"Oh that was years ago Charles, it is behind us now" You smiled and gently squeezed his hand, "Happy Anniversary my love" You whispered to Charles. "Happy Anniversary, my darling wife" Charles chuckled and grinned happily.
