Bruce X Reader: Bruce's Secret (One-Shot!)  

You were just about to set down your hot cup of freshly made tea when you heard a knock on the door, rarely did you ever have visitors, you lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere while your husband was off working. You set down your mug and slowly approached the door, you slowly opened the door and saw your husband Bruce Banner standing on the porch smiling innocently.

"Bruce!" You cried, hugging him tightly, you were about to kiss him when you saw The Avengers standing behind him.

"I have a tiny favour to ask" Bruce smiled innocently.

"What trouble have you gotten into now?" You asked.

"These are my friends... They're from work... Could they possibly stay here for a bit, we're in a bit of trouble and we need a safe place to hide..." Bruce muttered softly.

"Why exactly are you in trouble?" You asked.

"If you left us come in we'll explain everything" Natasha commented.

"Oh, I'm sorry" You chuckled, "Please come in" You smiled, you watched as Bruce walked in along with Clint Barton, Thor Odinson, Steve Rogers, and Tony Stark.

Bruce was about to introduce everyone when you stopped him, taking a step forward.

"You're The Avengers... I know all your names..." You grinned, "Well you can stay here as long as you need, there's plenty of room..." You muttered softly.

"Yeah, we would've called ahead, but we were too busy not knowing you existed" Tony stated.

"Oh, Bruce never told you about me?" You mumbled, turning your gaze to Bruce, "Well I'm Bruce's husband... If you need anything, feel free to ask..." You smiled softly.

"You have a wife?" Natasha mumbled, looking at Bruce in utter shock, she gave you an awkward smile before walking into the living room.

"So, who's after you this time?" You asked.

"Remember that project me and Tony were working on?" Bruce asked.

"You mean about the protector robot that would eventually take over for The Avengers...?" You muttered.

"He reactivated himself, created an army and is threatening to take over the world, he's also trying to kill us..." Tony blurted.

"We just need a place to lay low for a little bit..." Bruce mumbled, smiling innocently.

"You're Mrs. Banner?" Clint asked.

You nodded your head and smiled, "Would you all like some coffee or tea?" You asked.

"You know about... The other guy, right? When he goes green... And all angry and stuff?" Tony asked.

"Of course I know about it" You muttered softly.

"She's the only one that can calm me down... When I get out of hand" Bruce muttered, smiling shyly.

"Well, other than Natasha..." Steve muttered.

Clint turned his head and glared at him, smacking him in the back of the head.

"Coffee would be lovely, we're all quite tired..." Tony mumbled, smiling awkwardly at you.

You gave him a gentle smile and opened the nearby cupboard and grabbed some mugs, placing them on the counter.

Everyone, except Bruce walked into the living room to get comfortable.

"So, Natasha has been able to calm you down hmmm...?" You muttered, "That's good..." You commented.

"Its not what you think... At all" Bruce said sternly.

"I understand, you being away from work... I can see why she's so tempting, she is very pretty..." You muttered softly.

"I don't love her..." Bruce stated.

"I can see the way you look at her Bruce..." You sighed.

"I haven't even been here ten minutes and you're already questioning if I love you or not!" Bruce shouted angrily.

You could see his eyes begin to fade to green, you walked up to him and put your forehead to his.

"I'm sorry... I've missed you so much, I shouldn't of acted like that..." You whispered to him, lovingly kissing his cheek.

Bruce remained silent for a few moments, before slowly wrapping his arms around you.

"I'm sorry I let my temper slip..." Bruce whispered, giving you a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"Now how about a cup of tea? Caffeine free of course, with milk, no sugar" You smiled, putting the kettle on.

"You know me too well" Bruce smiled, hugging you from behind, he kissed your cheek before walking into the living room to join the rest of The Avengers.

Natasha slowly walked into the kitchen and took a deep breath.

"First off I want to apologize, I had no idea you had existed and believe me if he would've just told me, I would've stopped...", You turned and looked at Natasha and placed a cup of black coffee in front of her.

"It's fine, really" You said, giving her a reassuring smile.

"But if you know how to calm him down when he gets angry, I'm glad, more people should know how to do it not just me" You stated.

"You're not mad?" She asked.

"Let me tell you something sweetie, if you ever, ever kiss him again, I'll cut off your head and send it back to Russia in a potato sack" You threatened, but gave her another smile before walking into the living room with a tray of mugs filled with coffee.

"Hey Nat, did you know that Bruce's wife is a retired S.H.I.E.L.D agent? She was also Director Fury's right hand man..." Clint mentioned.

"I got the ex-agent vibe from her" Natasha commented, before walking into the living room. Clint looked at her strangely and walked into the living room, sitting down next to Steve. You sat next to Bruce and handed him his cup of caffeine free tea and kissed his cheek.
