It's 11:49pm. I'm lucky 4 missed calls lang ang nakuha ko galing sakanya. But then again, this is Caius Lorenzo we are talking about.

Gising pa kaya siya? I'm debating whether to call him or not. Baka kasi magising ko pa siya kapag tumawag ako at natutulog na pala siya. Maybe, I can just text him? Para mabasa niya pag-gising niya. That's safe.

The better me wins. My brain told me that I should call him at least at kapag hindi siya sumagot, then I'll just text him.

Nakapikit ako nang pinindot ko ang call button under his name. I don't know if I want him to answer or not pero isang beses palang nag-ring ay sinagot na niya ang aking tawag.

"Why are you still awake?" I questioned him first. It's close to midnight already and it looks like he is still awake.

"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that? It's past your bed time already. And to answer your question, I'm finishing my work." He retort.

Work? What work? It's already midnight. Ganoon ba siya ka-workaholic?

"Why are you still working? Don't tell me you're still in your office." Hindi makapaniwala kong sagot.

"You're straying the conversation, Hope." Matigas niyang sagot.

Me? Anong ginawa ko? Siya nga ang hindi sumagot sa tanong ko e.

"What?" I confusedly asked. I don't know what he was talking about. May hindi ba ako narinig sa mga sinabi or tinanong niya?

He sighed. "I called you four times but you didn't answer. May I know why?" Kalamado niyang tanong.

Nawala na sa aking isip ang missed call niya nang sinagot niya ang tawag ko at malamang gising pa siya at nagtatrabaho pa ng ganitong oras. I'll get back to him about that later after I explained my situation.

"I'm sorry, I got a little sidetracked. But I'm home now." Sabi ko sa maliit na boses.

"You just got home? At this hour? And what do you mean 'little'?"

I don't know what to make of his voice. He's calm but it's like he is also mad. How can he do that? Be calm but angry at the same time?

"I was with James." I said bravely.

I never lied or hid anything from him about me and James. I don't want Enzo to think that we we're more than friends. I know we're we stand and I'm faithful to Caius with all my heart, Loyal to Lorenzo with all I am.

Silence. He didn't utter anything So I felt a need to explain.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. It wasn't planned. He's not feeling good, emotionally. He needed me Enzo. He's my friend." I explained further, hoping he would understand and not get angry with me. I'm scared when he's getting angry. Naiirita palang siya nilalambing ko na agad.

"Sleep now. I'll see you Sunday."

Napaupo ako sa aking kama. "Sunday? I thought we're going to see each other tomorrow?" Malungkot kong tanong.

I thought I'm gonna see him tomorrow, he said he'll come here in my condo. Is he mad that's why he doesn't want see me? Or what?

"I know, baby. I'm sorry. Something came up. But, I'll see you on Sunday." Maamo niyang sabi.

I pouted. I'm so excited to see him tapos hindi pala kami magkikita. One day won't hurt right? It'going to be Sunday in a few hours anyway.

"You promise?" Para akong bata na pinagdamutan ng candy.
