"Calum, hey!" Emily said walking over to me. We were currently standing outside the school waiting for them to get out. I made sure to come extra early today.
"Hey." I smiled. "How has your day been?" I asked her.
"Exhausting. I've been running around all day trying to get stuff done for my boss which is impossible." She groaned causing me to chuckle.
"Oh? What's your job?" I asked her chuckling a bit.
"I'm just some prissy business woman's assistant. It really sucks but she's a family friend and it helps me with paying for Parker." She shrugged. "So it's worth it."
"Daddy!" I heard Eden yell running over and hugging my leg.
"How was your day darling?" I asked, brushing through her hair.
"Good daddy!" She smiled. "Can I have a play date at Lacey's?" She asked me. I was thrown off a bit since she had spent the last month without friends.
"Not tonight darling, you're going to mommy's remember?" I said and she frowned. "I'll plan one soon don't worry." I sighed, knowing I'd have to talk to Amy.
"Ah, Lacey." Emily laughed. "Good luck with Amy, she's the worst." She said waiting for Parker to- slowly - walk over.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I whined.
"I'm just saying, she's mean and likes to be in control always. Oh and she's raising Lacey to be just like her, so good luck." She laughed. "Hey park, did you have a good day today?" She asked him and he shook his head.
"No one wants to play with me." He whined and I frowned. I watched as Emily crouched down and hugged him.
"Daddy lets goooo!" Eden whined tugging on my arm. I nodded and then turned to Emily.
"Hey uh I know this might be weird but would you want to swap numbers? Could maybe plan a play date with Parker." I suggested and she laughed.
"Yeah, sure." She smiled putting her number in my phone.
"I'll talk to you later, yeah?" I asked and emily smiled and nodded. I walked back to the car and then started driving home.
"Hey Eden?" I said looking in the mirror. "Do you ever play with Parker?" I asked.
"No daddy, boys are yucky remember?" She said and I chuckled.
"You can still be friends, just no kissing." I laughed. "I want you to try and be friends with him alright? I think he could use a friend."
"I can't." She said and I gave her a confused look.
"What do you mean you can't? You can be friends with anyone you want Eden." I told her and she sighed.
