"It's negative." She frowned. "How can it be negative? I was so sure of it. I need another one, I need to take one more." She breathed.

"Hey, I thought this was good?" I asked wrapping my arms around her and kissing the top of her head. "What's wrong?" I asked her.

I mean, I thought it was good. I wouldn't be upset if she was pregnant, but I don't think we're ready and at that point.

"I just-" She sighed taking a deep breath. "I just really thought I was and I was a little excited about it and now I just feel dumb and empty. I was getting sick, headaches, I missed my period, tiredness. I just thought I was." She mumbled sitting on the bed. "Why do you seem so excited?"

"I'm not excited Em." I sighed sitting down with her." I just don't think now is a good time for us. We don't have space at all and we haven't been together long. I want to move into a house first at least before that." I explained, moving some hair out of her face. "I love you and it's not that I don't want kids with you or anything, I just don't think now is our time."

"Okay." She mumbled with tears forming in her eyes. "I'm sad."

"I know Em." I mumbled, holding her close while she cried. She sat there in my eyes and cried for a good while until Parker came in.

I know she's upset and it breaks my heart to see her this upset over it, especially because there's nothing I can do about it.

"Mumma." Parker mumbled, walking in while rubbing his eyes. He had just woken up, still not feeling well, and you could tell. "Mumma." He whined trying to climb on our bed.

"Hey bud." Emily sighed wiping her eyes quickly. "How are you feeling?"

"Sleepy." He replied. "Can we snuggle?" He asked and then she turned her attention towards me.

"Actually, Parker, why don't we go watch a movie. Mumma doesn't feel well." I said picking him up. "We can watch whatever we you want."

"Can we watch Cars?" He grinned and I nodded.

"If that's what you want to watch then we'll watch it." I said walking into the living room.

I got the movie set up and then we both sat on the couch together to watch it.

"Why was mumma crying?" Parker asked me, looking away from the tv. I frowned and looked down at him.

"She's just upset Park." I sighed. "She'll be okay." Truth is I don't know when she'd be okay. She's really upset right now.

"She used to cry a lot before we lived here." He said looking at the tv. "Can we make her pancakes, she loves them."

I chuckled a bit before replying.

"I don't know bud, we might now have stuff to make pancakes." I sighed. We hadn't done actual grocery shopping in awhile and we had barely any food at the moment.

"Can we go to the store?" He asked. "Please daddy? I want to make mumma smile." He pouted and I smiled because he's adorable and I still love that he looks up to me as his father.

"Fine, okay. Go put your shoes on, I'll be right back." I said standing up and then walking into my bedroom where Emily was curled up in a ball on our bed.

"Hey Em?" I said to get her attention.

"Hmm?" She mumbled, slowly lifting her head up.

"Parker and I are going to go to the store. Do you need anything?" I asked.

"No." She said laying down again.

"Okay." I sighed. "I love you. We'll be back soon." I said before walking back into the living room where Parker was waiting.

"Let's goooo." He said pulling on my hand. I laughed and then grabbed his hand walking to the door.

Once we were both in the car, I made the drive to the store. The drive of course consisted of me playing music and listening to Parker sing along the entire time, which was adorable.

"Alright, let's go." I said taking his hand and walking into the store and then setting Parker in the shopping cart.

I started by grabbing some eggs and milk because we always need those anyways.

"Mummy likes chocolate chips in her pancakes." Parker said smiling at me.

"Does she or do you?" I asked while laughing and grabbing a bag of chocolate chips.

"We both do." He pouted.

"I'm just joking bud. What else do we need?" I asked pushing the cart through the different isles.

"We should make a cake." Parker stated and I sighed.

"But we're already making pancakes." I whined.

"But mumma loves cake." He said crossing his arms.

"What kind?" I asked, looking at the box mix of cake.

"The white one but she likes chocolate frosting and sprinkles." He said and I nodded.

"Fine, we're going to make pancakes and cake for your mumma tonight." I smiled. "You're sure she'll be happy with it?"

"Yes daddy." He giggled.

After we drove home we went straight to the kitchen to start making the cake first. I got all of the ingredients measured out into bowls and set them on the counter because I knew Parker would want to do it.

"Alright Park, pour this in, and then that one." I said pointing to the bowl of oil and the bowl of water. He smiled and then did as I told him, I did the eggs and then put the cake in the oven.

"Why don't you go play for a bit Parker." I said wiping down the counters.

"I want to watch the cake." He said looking into the oven.

"It's going to be in there for awhile." I laughed.

About half an hour later I took the cake out and set it on the counter and then started to make dinner.

I made the pancake batter and then started pouring it onto a pan and then waiting to flip them. Once I had made all the pancakes I put some onto three plates and set them down on the table.

"Emily." I did walking into our bedroom where she was still laying. "I made dinner Em, you need to eat." I sighed rubbing her back.

"What'd you make?" She asked rolling over.

"Well, Parker said you really really like pancakes, so we made you some chocolate chip pancakes." I smiled. "Oh! And he said you really really love cake, so we made you a cake as well. I just have to put frosting on it after we eat and sprinkles of course." I told her and she grinned.

"I love you." She said sitting up and giving me a kiss. She then climbed out of bed and we walked into the kitchen.

"Mumma look!" Parker smiled sitting at the table. "We made your favorite."

"I see that." She said walking over to him. "I love you Parker."

"I love you mumma." He replied. "Are you happy now? I don't like when you're sad."

"Yes, this makes me very happy." She assured him as she started to cut up his pancakes. "Now eat so we can have cake." She said sitting down.

We all then started to eat.

"Thank you guys. I appreciate it." She sighed. "I'm sorry for being dramatic earlier." She said looking at me.

"You weren't being dramatic babe, you were upset. That's okay." I said to her.

"But you're right, we're not ready." She frowned.

"That doesn't mean we'll never be ready." I said taking her hand. "I promise when we're ready we can, I would love to, just not right now. We have a lot going on." I said and she nodded her head.

"I love you."

"I love you too." I smiled. "And I love the life we're living right now."
