Calum"Do I have to go?" Eden frowned as we walked into the doctors office. It's now a week later and getting closer and closer to the first day of school.
"I already told you that you have to. It won't be bad I promise." I said opening the door for her and then following behind her.
"I don't like it here." She whined as I checked her in.
"I know, but you've gotta do it darling." I sighed, lifting her onto my lap. This was one thing that Eden hated. I mean, who really enjoys going to the doctors anyway? "It's just a check up." I clarified.
Last time she was in this setting was because of allergies so it won't be nearly as bad as her almost dying."
"Eden?" The nurse called after a few more minutes.
"Are you ready?" I asked, letting her stand and taking her hand as I stood up.
"No daddy!" She said clinging onto me. I frowned and picked her up just so I could carry her into the room. Once we were in and settled the nurse started asking me the usual questions. "Is she eating enough fruits and vegetables?" No. "Is she drinking enough milk." Yeah. "Is she getting enough sleep?" Kinda. All the boring stuff that just reminds me I might not be doing the best job.
"Okay, I would say just work on making sure she's eating a bit healthier." The nurse said and I nodded. She's not wrong, but I'm not going to make my kid eat nothing but gross healthy food. "The doctor will be in in just a moment for some shots." She said getting up and leaving. Here we go.
"We need to leave." Eden said trying to get off of the table. "No shots."
"Yes, it needs to be done Eden." I sighed, seeing as she was definitely going to start crying anytime now. "Can you be a big girl for me?"
"I'm scared." She whimpered.
"I know darling. How about this, if you do this for me we can go get a treat yeah? Ice cream, a new toy, whatever. But you've gotta do this." I sighed. "I used to be scared too, but I'll be right here and you can hold my hand too."

After somewhat successfully getting the shots done- I mean she cried a lot but she still did it- it was requested we went to the store so she could get a toy. I was kind of hoping she'd pick ice cream but I guess not.
"What do you want?" I asked as we walked through the toy isles.
"I want a new doll." She mumbled. "That one." She said pointing to a Barbie doll. I nodded and picked it up.
"Alright, are you ready? We have to get home." I told her as we started walking towards the check out.
"Can we get something for the baby?" She asked, looking up at me with her green puppy dog eyes. "Please daddy?"
