Friday came around quickly and I was pretty excited about it. It was finally a weekend where I had Eden and after starting a new job, I really just wanted to spend time with her.

Working with Ashton was going okay, it wasn't the most exciting job but it worked for me.

"Daddy will you come play with me?" Eden asked walking into the living room wearing a princess dress and a tiara. "Me and bun-bun want to have a tea party."

"I guess I can." I said jokingly as I stood up to walk into her room.

We had only been home for about an hour since they got out of school and Emily had to take Parker to another appointment so it was just me and Eden for a bit.

"You need to wear this daddy." She said diffing through her play clothes and grabbing a scarf and of course a tiara. I took both things from her hand and put them on. "You can sit next to me and cupcake." She told me. Of course I tried to squeeze my butt into the tiny chair that was in between her and her stuffed puppy dog.

I sat there and watched Eden talk about her day and talk to her stuffed animals. It's been a bit since we've been able to spend time together like this and it was nice.it was fifteen minutes later when we both heard the front door open and then close.

"We're back!" I heard Emily yell and then her footsteps following. "Well don't you just look adorable." She said standing in the doorway with Parker, joking about what I was wearing.

"He looks pretty, doesn't he?" Eden said standing up.

"He looks beautiful." Emily giggled and then I watched as Parker rugged on her sleeve and whispered 'mumma'. "Oh! So, we were talking about you guys in the car early and Parker was talking about how lucky we are to be able to stay here. So he wanted to do something for you guys." She explained.. "It's not a lot and I didn't help him at all, he didn't want me too. But I couldn't tell him no, it was too sweet. So, go ahead Park."

I smiled and watched as Parker shyly walked over to me and handed me the gift back and then stood next to Eden by the table.

"There's something for you and Eden." Emily said and I took out Eden's that was wrapped in tissue paper and then grabbed the card and my gift out of the bag.

"Can I open it Daddy?" Eden asked as her eyes lit up, as any kid would if they were handed a gift.

"Hold on let me look at the card first." I laughed, opening the envelope. It was a simple thank you card and I'm the inside Emily had wrote the same stuff that she had been telling me all week. "Alright, go ahead darling." I said and we all watched her open the present.

"Look how cute it is daddy!" She said holding up a purple stuffed unicorn. "I don't have one like this yet." She said hugging it tightly.

"It's nice darling, but don't forget to say thank you." I said and she nodded looking at Parker and hugging him.

"Thank you Parker, I love it!" She squealed. "You can help me name it." He smiled when she said this and then turned to me.

"Open it." He said smiling and I laughed.

"Okay, okay." I said unwrapping the gift. It was just a plain blue T-shirt, but it was honestly a nice color and I did really like it.

"He thought blue would look nice on you." Emily laughed walking further into the room.

"Do you like it?" Parker asked.

"I love it, thank you." I said and he smiled.

"Mumma he likes it." Parker said to Emily and she nodded.

"I know, I heard him." She laughed. "Why don't you two play for a bit, yeah?" She said and they nodded. I stood up and walked out with her into the other room.

"Sorry it's not much." She sighed.

"You didn't have to get anything at all." I told her.

"I know, but Parker really wanted to and he really wanted to pick it out on his own." She laughed. "I think he did good."

"He did." I smiled. "So, Eden requested mac and cheese for dinner since we haven't had it yet this week but I wanted to check with you first."

"Works for me." She shrugged. "As long as you make it."

"Yeah, yeah. I will." I said taking a box of Mac and cheese out of the cabinet and filling a pot with water. A few minutes later we heard Eden and Parker yelling so we both walked back into Eden's room to see what was going on.

Parker was sitting on the floor crying and Eden was standing next to him holding a toy close to her. It wasn't really hard to figure out what was going on.

"Hey what's going on?" Emily asked picking Parker up and rubbing his back.

"She hit me mumma." He mumbled.

"Eden!" I said sternly and she pouted.

"He took my toy." She said and I shook my head.

"You don't hit, you know that." I said taking her hand. "Timeout." I said and she started to cry and throw a bit of a tantrum but she knew not to move. I then went back to check on Emily and Parker.

"You're okay Parker, I promise." I heard her sigh. She was sitting on the floor with him now holding him close and I felt awful.

"Hey." I whispered sitting down with them. "I'm really sorry." I frowned.

"It's fine, he's fine. They're kids, it's going to happen." She said laughing slightly. "I think he's just a little scared."

"Are you okay Parker?" I asked and he looked up at me and pouted. "I'm sorry buddy." I said and then looked at Emily. "I'm going to talk to Eden if you want to start dinner." I said and she nodded.

"Will do." She agreed and I walked back to where Eden was sitting.

"Am I done now daddy?" She asked.

"We're going to have a chat in my room." I said picking her up. I walked into my bedroom and I sat on my bed with her on my lap.

"Why'd you hit Parker?" I asked rubbing my fingers through her hair.

"I told you, he took my toy." She shrugged.

"But you know better than that darling. I think you really hurt his feelings Eden." I sighed.

"I didn't mean to daddy, but he took my toy!" She exclaimed.

"You know how to share." I pointed out and she pouted and nodded.

"Can I say sorry?" She asked me.

"Yes, please do." I said and then she crawled off of my lap and off the bed and then ran out of the room. I slowly followed behind her into the kitchen where Emily and Parker were.

I helped her climbed into one of the stools next to Parker and then stood next to Emily.

"I'm sorry I hit you." She mumbled, waiting for him to look at her, when he did she continued. "But we can play whatever you want to next time and you can use my toys." She said and I smiled.

"Deal." Parker said and I chuckled.

"You guys can go play after you eat though." Emily said setting down two bowls in front of them. I got them each some water and then Emily and I stood there watching them.

"Thank you." Emily mumbled. "I know that's all I've been saying, but really, thank you."

"You're welcome." I said putting my arm around her shoulders. "At this point I think I'd do anything for you two."
