"Come in." I said quickly letting them in and closing the door behind them. "Are you guys okay?"

"Well, we'll talk in a minute." She said when Eden ran over to her.

"Emmy!" Eden said hugging her leg.

"Hey." Emily said softly crouching down to her level. "Do you want to go play with Eden for a bit Park?" She asked and he shook his head.

"No mumma." He whimpered holding onto her tightly.

"I need you to be a big boy for me right now Parker." She sighed setting him down. "I won't be long, but I need to talk to Calum."

"You can come watch The Lion King with me." Eden said taking his hand and he looked at Emily.

"Go ahead, I'll be there in a minute." She assured him and he slowly nodded walking to the living room with Eden.

"Do you want anything to drink?" I asked her.

"Um, water please." She said and followed me into the kitchen. "Thank you." She mumbled when I handed her a glass of water.

"You're welcome." I said sitting down at the table with her. We sat in silence for a few minutes before she spoke up.

"So I guess I should explain myself." She sighed.

"I won't make you, but it'd be nice to know what's going on." I said and she nodded.

"Well I'm going to explain myself anyways." She laughed. "I told you about my ex not too long ago- Parker's dad- and like I said he's a really awful guy, whatever, I left him two years ago and thought he was finally done harassing me. Well, he showed up the other day, at my apartment. He found out where I live now and showed up because he wants to see Parker, which obviously I'm not okay with. And we were supposed to do stuff today with you guys but I had to pick him up early because his stupid dad was sending me texts about grabbing Parker from school and I got scared so I picked him up." She paused taking a deep breath. "Then I was with my parents all afternoon trying to think of something to do and he showed up there because they've lived in the same house since I was born and a bunch of shit went down but I needed to go somewhere where he doesn't know how to find me for tonight at least."

"You can stay here for a bit if you need to." I said hugging her and she smiled. "That sounds really scary honestly."

"I just don't want anything to happen to Parker, he's everything to me." She nearly whimpered in my arms and I sighed rubbing her back. "Thank you so much. I would've called but he smashed my phone the other day and everything has just been a mess."

"It's not a problem, really. I'd rather have you guys be safe." I assured her. "The couch pulls out if you and Parker want to sleep together or he can sleep in Eden's room, whatever works. You can stay as long as you need to."

"Thank you." She said again, standing up. "I'm going to check on Parker."

"I guess I'll go check on Eden then." I laughed standing up with her and walking into the living room.

"Hey Parker." Emily said sitting down and lifting Parker into her lap. "How do you feel about staying here for a bit?" She asked holding him close.

"I want to go home." He whined.

"I know buddy, but we can't go home right now. We're going to stay here with Calum and Eden for a little while." She told him and Eden climbed off the couch and stood next to where they were sitting.

"Don't be sad Parker, me and daddy have Mac and cheese every night." She said and Emily and I both chuckled as she continued. "And you can play with my toys too. I have a Woody doll you can have."

"That's very nice of you darling." I said picking her up.

"It'll be fun Parker." Emily said rubbing his back. "You're tired aren't you." She sighed.

"Why don't you go brush you're teeth." I told Eden and she nodded.

"Why don't you go do that too." Emily said grabbing his tooth brush from her bag and handing it to him. He whined when she set him down but he walked to the bathroom anyways.

"Do you want to help me set this up?" I asked referring to the couch and she nodded. We pulled the couch out and then put some bedding onto it for them. "Look at that." I said, proud of myself.

"Oh daddy can I sleep here with Parker." Eden asked climbing up onto the now pulled out couch.

"No darling, that's for Parker and Emily." I said and she pouted.

"But maybe Emmy can sleep with you and then me and Parker can sleep here." She said and I shook my head.

"No Eden, they need their own bed." I said again. "And you need to go to bed." I said picking her up and walking towards her bedroom.

I tucked her into bed and then sat down next to her for a bit.

"Why are they staying here daddy?" She asked, cuddling up with her blankets.

"Well they needed a place to stay and I wanted to be a good friend. I care about them a lot." I explained. "Goodnight, I love you."

"I love you daddy." She said and I smiled to myself before walking back into the living room where I heard Emily humming in Parker's ear so I stood back and watched them.

"I love you mumma." I heard Parker say and I smiled.

"I love you too Parker. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." She replied hugging him. I walked into the living room more to where she can see me now. "Thank you so much, again." She said looking at me.

"Thank you." Parker mumbled looking up at me.

"You're both very welcome." I smiled. "Do you need anymore blankets or anything?" I asked.

"I think we're okay actually, but if you want to be the best and get Parker some milk that'd be great." She said smiling at me and cuddling Parker.

"Of course. I'll be right back." I replied, walking away into the kitchen.

I grabbed one of Eden's sippy cups from the cabinet so Parker didn't spill it anywhere and filled it with milk. I made sure the lid was on tight and then walked back to the living room.

"Here you go." I said handing it to Parker.

"Thank you." He mumbled turning his attention towards the tv.

"Alright bud, I'm going to get up now, you try and sleep." She sighed kissing his head. "I love you."

"Love you." He mumbled. After that we both walked back into the kitchen.

"So are you two okay?" I asked leaning against the counter.

"I think so, Parker is just shaken up. I mean, the asshole went after him. Then I stepped in and he went after me and it was a mess." She sighed.

"Did you call the cops or anything?" I asked.

"My mom did but they couldn't do a whole lot, he left." She shrugged. "Thank you Calum, it really means a lot." She said again and I smiled.

"I told you it's no problem." I said again.

"Daddy." Eden whined walking into the kitchen. "Daddy I'm thirsty." She said reaching up for me. I picked her up and sighed.

"I wish you liked going to bed at night." I groaned getting her some water. "Drink up, you need to go to bed." I said and she slowly drank her water.

"I'm done." She said and I set her down. "Goodnight." She said walking off.

"She's always so full of energy." Emily laughed.

"Yeah and then she doesn't sleep and then it catches up to her and then she has a day of just throwing tantrums." I laughed. "It's a bad cycle and I'm still trying to figure out how to get her to stay in bed."

"She'll get there I'm sure, but I think I'm going to bed. It's been a long day." She said through a yawn. "Goodnight Calum."

"Goodnight Em, sleep well."
