Calum

"Mommy says she wants me to live with her." Eden said from the backseat. "I don't want to live there."

I had taken her out this afternoon to go see my parents and visit for a bit since I hadn't seen them in awhile.

"You're not darling." I sighed. This was an on going thing with Amber now. She'd try to tell Eden things like that or bribe her in someway to get our daughter to want to stay with her. "Did you have a good weekend?" I asked looking in the rear view mirror to see her shaking her head.

"We shopped for the baby." She said. "I don't want a brother daddy." She whined.

"Why not?" I asked, continuing to make the drive home that I dreaded.

"Boys are gross." She pouted.

"But you like Parker, he's sort of like your brother." I pointed out. At this point they were practically siblings, and if Emily and I ever do have kids I don't want either of them upset by it.

It's been a few weeks since the pregnancy stuff and Emily still gets upset about it sometimes. She'd go on to say she wants kids with me, she loves me, and she knows that she wants me to be the father of her children. It broke my heart because she acts as if that was her only chance of possibly being pregnant which just isn't true.

"But I like Parker. He plays with me." She said and I chuckled. "A brother won't play with me daddy."

"I promise a little brother won't be as awful as you think Eden." I assured her. "Your birthday is soon." I pointed out after a long pause.

"I know daddy." She giggled.

"So, what do you want to do?" I asked her.

"I want a party." She said. "With lots of pink and sparkles. I want you, Parker, and Emmy, and all my friends."

"Sounds manageable." I mumbled. "I think I can do that." I said to her and I saw her smile. "Are you excited to finally be five?" I asked chuckling a bit. She had been going on and on for the last month about how being four isn't cool anymore.

"Yes daddy." She giggled. I then parked the car and got out, helping Eden out as well and then walked into our apartment.

"Hey Eden." Emily smiled when we walked inside. "Parker's in the living room playing if you want to join him." She said and Eden nodded, quickly taking her shoes off and running into the other room.

"How've you been doing this morning?" I asked her, giving her a quick hug.

"I'm okay." She sighed giving me a small smile. "Just been hanging out I guess. I made Parker take a bath and clean up his toys. He has an appointment to go to later." She shrugged.

"Yeah, but how have you been doing Em?" I pushed.

"If you're asking if I'm still sad then yes, I am. I cried this morning and now I'm fine. Can we stop talking about this every day?" She snapped and I frowned. "I'm sorry, I'm just, struggling I guess."

"I love you." I sighed. "But I was thinking about something." I said walking into the kitchen with her following behind me.

"And what's that?" She asked sitting down at the counter.

"We should start looking for a house. Something bigger and less, I don't know, dirty." I chuckled. "I think we're ready and I think I want to be with you forever and Eden and Parker certainly can't share a room forever."

"Are you sure? It seems like a lot to worry about right now." She sighed. I frowned a little at her comment because I thought now was good. I know that I'm ready to start turning my life into what I want it to be.

"I think it'd be good for us, good for me anyway. We can move into a better area, have a nicer home with more room, I want to make a better life for me and Eden and you two." I replied. "I'm ready if you are."

"And you're really sure about this?" She questioned.

"Positive." I smiled. "Come on baby, it'll be nice." I said hugging her.

"How are we going to afford it?" She asked.

"We're both making decent money now, I don't think we need to worry." I shrugged.

"Okay, fine. We can start looking, but if we move together the place needs to be perfect." She said and I chuckled.

"Of course, nothing but the best." I said giving her a quick kiss.

"Mumma!" Parker said walking into the kitchen with Eden following behind him.

"What?" She asked, leaning over and looking behind me.

"Look what we made." He smiled holding up a little LEGO house thing that they had built together.

"That's really cool Parker." She smiled. "I need you to clean up your toys though. We need to leave soon." She said and he pouted.

"Fine." He groaned walking out.

"Daddy can I have a snack?" Eden asked looking up at me and I nodded. I grabbed a small package of goldfish from the cabinet and handed them to her. "Thank you." She smiled before running off.

"So, I was thinking I'd stop somewhere and bring dinner back on our way home. Like pizza or something." She said and I nodded.

"Sounds good." I said and then gave her a quick kiss. "Do pizza though, we haven't had that in awhile."

"Gotcha, pizza it is." She smiled. "I'll text you when we're on our way back. I love you." She said putting a sweatshirt on. "Oh! And can you please do the dishes while I'm gone? Thank you." She smiled giving me a kiss.

"Yeah, yeah. I love you too." I chuckled. "You two have fun." I said before she walked off.

I can't wait to actually start making a future for us. To start looking for a place to call home and make memories in. To start a life with us all together.
