I wokeup the next morning feeling exhausted. I didn't sleep much the night before because I was genuinely worried for Emily. Being in an abusive relationship alone couldn't be easy, even more difficult when having a child with that person. It was clearly taking a toll on Parker as well, I'm sure he doesn't understand their seriousness of it but being aggressive towards your child and bringing them down will surely make them timid.
Since it was Tuesday I still had to get up and get Eden ready for school, but for once I didn't wake up late, so it won't be super rushed. I climbed out of bed and walked down the hall when I heard talking coming from the kitchen.
"I want blueberries Emmy!" I heard my daughter say, really it was more like yelling but who cares.
"Okay, okay, you need to lower your voice though." Emily warned. "What do you want Parker?"
"Chocolate chips." I heard him reply. I walked into the kitchen to see her making pancakes for both of them.
"What's going on here?" I asked getting myself a cup of coffee.
"Well, Parker woke up earlier than normal so I woke Eden up too and now I'm making them pancakes." She shrugged, not looking away from the batter that was on the pan. "Do you want any?"
"I'm okay, thank you though." I smiled, walking over to Eden and giving her a hug. "Good morning darling."
"Morning daddy." She said smiling up at me. "Can I gave some juice?"
"Yeah, hold on." I said walking over to the fridge. "Do you want some juice Parker?" I asked and he smiled and nodded at me. I got two cups for the both of them and then filled them up and get the cups to the two children.
"Thank you daddy." Eden said, shoving some of the cut up pancakes into her mouth.
"You're welcome." I mumbled kissing the top of her head. "Now eat up, you still have to go to school." I told her and she nodded.
"Speaking of that, I was thinking I'd just bring them if you're okay with it. I mean I have to go out anyway because I have to work and it'll save you some money on gas, but if that's not okay then forget I asked." Emily said and I chuckled.
"Actually that'd be nice if you don't mind. Ashton's calling me sometime this morning about a job." I told her. Sure a phone call wouldn't take that long, but it didn't really make sense for both of us to go.
"I offered Calum." She laughed. "I figured it's the least I could do."
"You don't have to do anything, I just want you guys safe. But I appreciate it so thank you." I said and she smiled a bit and started blushing.
