Chapter 24

Lumabas ako ng palasyo para magpahangin nakita ko si Nathan na kausap si Margaret.

Nagtago agad ako sa isang napalaking pot sa may pintuan. Bakit ba ako nagtatago?

"Yan tuloy! Si Jackilyn ang una nyang naisayaw! Ikaw kasi eh! Ang bagal-bagal mo naman kasi!"she's whining to Nathan.

"Please stop Margaret. Why are you such a spoiled brat? Hindi lahat ng gusto mo, makukuha mo. Ano bang nangyare sayo? Tama naman ang pagpapalaki sayo ni Note."Nathan

He looked so annoyed with her.

"Ano? Hindi nya naman ako pinalaki ah. Wala naman sya parati. And anyway, don't change the subject. I told you, I want him! Pinag-usapan na natin 'to dati!"sabi naman ni Margaret.

Ba't ba sila nag-uusap dito sa labas ng ganyan? Hindi ba nila naisip na baka may makarinig sa pinag-uusapan nila.

Pagboboyfriend lang ba ang nasa isip nya?

Pumasok ako ulit sa loob ng palasyo, at lumabas ulit.

"Someone's coming."rinig kong sabi ni Margaret bago ako tuluyang makalabas.

When they saw me, they immediately stopped talking.

Her grumpy face suddenly turned into an awkward smile.

"Jacky! Ang crowded sa loob noh? Nagpapahangin muna kami dito ni Nathan."Margaret

Somehow, I can't feel anything at all. Bakit? I smiled at her in response.

"I heard that your going with Angelo next week."Nathan

Biglang nagbago ang facial expression ni Margaret. "A-anong gagawin nyo doon? Are you going to do it again?"

She's referring to when I intentionally let them erase my memory.

"No, training lang gagawin namin.. Mga two to three days lang naman kami doon.. Tuturuan nya ako kung paano magsundo ng mga kaluluwa."

"Tha-that's great. Wh-what if sumama na lang din ako. Right Nathan? Para naman matuto din ako."Margaret

As far as I can remember, this girl can't guide souls. Wala syang masyadong kapangyarihan and pure bloods lang ang makakagawa nun.

But what the heck. I think I'll enjoy watching her flirt and fail. She's been bullying me since I was a kid.

It's payback time.

"Sure! Why not!"

"Jacky, what are you saying? Margaret, come one! You know you can't-"frustrated na sabi ni Nathan.

She stopped him from talking by raising her hand in front of his face.

"I don't wanna hear it. I'm going."sabi nya then she happily went back inside the palace.

Napabuntong hininga si Nathan dito sa tabi ko.

"Babysitting is hard isn't it?"

"I was planning to go out next week."pagrereklamo nya.

"With the rogue faeries?"

"Yes.. hays.. Naku naman. They'll be disappointed with me."

"They or she?"

Napatingin sya sa akin. "What are you talking about?"sabi nya while giving me a nervous laugh.

So ito ang ibig nilang sabihin when they say he's so obvious. Well will you look at that.. Both Nathan and my brother are in love. Habang ako, I'm still trying to find out why I couldn't feel anything anymore. At bakit mas lumalaki yung marka sa dibdib ko?

"Wala naman, I wasn't talking about anything."

Bigla namang lumabas si kuya he looks worried but he smiled when our eyes finally met.

"I finally found you! Nandito ka lang pala."sabi nya habang palapit sya sa amin.

"Good evening Angelo."Nathan

"And to you Nathan. You should have told me na lalabas kayong dalawa."kuya

"Do I have to?"

"Don't listen to her. Kasama ko si Margaret dito kanina, it was just coincident na lumabas din si Jacky."Nathan

"Oh come on Nathan, kinakahiya mo bang nakita tayong nagdate dito sa labas?"

Nathan looked at me, then kuya nervously.

Si kuya naman ay nakasimangot na.

"Hahahaha! Nakakatawa talaga 'tong si Jacky. Well, I better go back inside, baka hinahanap na ako ni dad."sabi Nathan at agad bumalik sa loob.

"Jacky naman!"kuya

"Ano?!"

Napabuntong-hininga sya, "They want you to play the violin. Let's go.

"So that's why you're looking for me. You're not really worried."

"What? No! I was looking for you cause I was worried, tapos tinawag ako ni daddy at hinanap ka sa akin. He said that the oldies wants to hear you play."

"Okay, okay.. Stop explaining.. Ayoko naman talagang marinig ang explanation mo."sabi ko tapos pumasok na ulit ako sa loob, then he followed me and walked beside me.

What's wrong with her? Nakaka-inis!

Am I spoiling her too much? Or is she angry with me? If so, bakit sya galit?

We're on our way to the mini stage. Hawak nya ang violin nya and I readied my self to accompany her with the piano.

She told me what she wanted to play. Why this?

She's becoming colder and colder. Nasaan na ang warm hearted Jackilyn?

She started playing her violin.

She's playing with a sad melody and I played along with her.

I looked at her, her eyes are closed. When she opened it again, It looks empty. Walang ka emotion-emotion unlike the way she plays her violin.

Her music makes me feel pain inside my heart.

What's going on? I know that she's in pain through her music.

I looked at the audience and some of them are already wiping their tears. I my self wants to cry.

I want to cry for her.

I focused my self playing the piano again hanggang sa natapos ang pagtugtog namin.

I stood up at lumapit ako kay Jackilyn, at sabay kaming nag bow.

Everyone applauded.

Nang makababa na kami sa mini stage, they surrounded us and told us it was beautiful.

Lumayo kami sa mga tao after few minutes.

"Jackilyn, what's wrong?"

"Ha? Bakit?"sabi nya while looking at me straight with those cold eyes.

"Anong bakit? Anong nangyayare sayo? I know something's wrong."

"What are you talking about? Nothing's wrong."

I was about to force her to tell me pero dumating sina mom, dad, and the rest of the gang.

"Excuse me po, I really need to rest. So can I leave first?"sabi ni Jackilyn

"Sure sweety."sagot naman ni mommy at agad na syang umalis.
