Camreigh POV :
When I got home I knew the wait for Peter to call me would be a long one, but it was worth it.
It was probably the longest eight to nine hours of my life.
He did occasionally text me, when he stopped for gas or food but the majority of the ride was silent.
I felt stupid for wishing him to stay back with me now that he was gone. I knew he had given me plenty of opportunities to beg him to stay and not go... and I knew Peter would have settled for a college close to home.. but he shouldn't have to settle.
The fact he got into such a prestigious school in the first place was such a monumental accomplishment and I could never forgive myself if I let him miss out on this opportunity.
I felt myself get sleepy as I laid in bed trying to keep my focus on anything but Peter, but that was all my heart was yearning for.
I guess he was thinking of me too, because my phone buzzed with a message from him, and it made me happy to know he was thinking about me.
Peter POV:
As my drive was getting closer to its end with only 2 hours left, I decided to pull over to stretch my legs.
I had been cooped up in that car for so long I was starting to go stir crazy.
I decided to shoot Camreigh a text because I was missing her like crazy.
Camreigh:
Hey babe, I'm missing you like crazy. I love you, just wanted you to know I was okay. 2 hours left and I'll finally be there 😭 this has been a long torturous ride alone wish you were riding with me... can't wait to hear your voice. 😘We texted for a good minute or two back and forth I could tell she was having a difficult time with this too, part of me was mad she didn't ask me to stay but another part was grateful. I know she was just looking out for me, when I wasn't doing it for myself.
After cramming a big mac in my mouth faster than anything I had ever eaten before I felt like it was time to hit the road again.
