NOTICE ME : A Peter Kavinsky Story

Confrontation

As I was heading out the door to meet Sophia for school so we could ride the bus together I noticed Peter's car sitting in front of my house by my mailbox with the top down, when I seen him honk his horn and wave.

I looked around me and behind me too see who he was waving out when I noticed it was me.

"Oh" I said to myself feeling stupid, but this was definitely out of the ordinary.
I was suprised to see him without August they always rode together, I knew they were bestfriends but I think  mostly because August could never pass his own drivers test so he always caught a ride with him and August Jones was one of the most irresponsible kids I had ever met.

I started to walk towards his mustang went I felt myself smile extra big trying not to look so obvious I tried to hide my excitement the best I could.

"Where's Sophia?" I asked seeing she hadn't come to meet me yet and school started soon.

"She had a dentist appointment today, shes getting braces!" He laughed "she'll be back after lunch" he said giving me that dashing smile, making me get lost in him again.

"You wanna ride?" He asked catching me completely dumbfounded and off guard my head was screaming Yes! Absolutely! And wanting me to jump over the door like a crazy person but I tried to play it cool.

"Yeah.. yeah that would be awesome!" I said opening up the passenger door and putting his seatbelt over me and my backpack in the back seat behind us, when he sped off incredibly fast.

It was awkward for a minute until I thought of something to talk about. "So where's August?" I asked out of the blue to spark conversation he shook his head, "Riding to school with Harper I think they got back together...." he said questionably.

I laughed "I didnt even know they broke up?" When he cocked his head towards me and shrugged "it was only yesterday.. now there back together. I guess hes trying to suck up to her now by riding with her" he smiled really big.

I was trying not to look suspicious but I kept glancing over at him because of how cute he looked in his grey sweater and Jean's. When he caught me "what?" He said with a laugh I quickly made up something "I.. like your sweater" I said when he smiled.

"Thanks brown you look pretty today. I like your hair like that " he said with a friendly wink as he pulled into the school parking lot.

I felt like the entire study body was staring at me when he opened my door for me. "Thanks..."  I said when he nodded, then out of the blue I see Destiny giving me a hateful look while she had her arms wrapped around Todd's neck.

I was in no way looking for a fight, or any sort of drama.... and it's not like anything was going on. He was starting to become more of a friend to me... just as much as Sophia was and he gave me a ride? So why was she looking at me with a burning ray of a thousand suns.

"I'll see ya later Cam" he said giving me that head nod he did and grabbing his books to go meet August.

PETER POV:

The whole day August wouldn't stop badgering me about Camreigh. I kept telling him to shut up and that I was just being friendly but he didn't believe me.

"Dude, that girl wants you" August said being obnoxious but I blew it off.

"Look, I was just being nice she is my biology partner after all so I kinda owed her" I said trying to get him to shut up.

He just looked at me and smiled "Mmmhmmm" he said when Destiny walked into the class with her friend Grace.

She looked at me with a bitchy stare and I just ignored her. That's when she started passing notes to me in class.

So your dating losers now? DESTINY

She's just a friend PETER

whatever, I seen the way she looks at you DESTINY

Why do you even care? Your dating Todd and all you did was play me. Dick move Destiny. PETER

From what I remember you enjoyed it. DESTINY

And from what I remember we were both to drunk to enjoy it... and by the looks of you I need to get an AIDS test LEAVE ME ALONE! PETER

I saw her face gasped when she read what I wrote and looked over at me crumbling up the note and flipping me off. I just shook my head and laughed with August as we talked about her.

It had been silent today for my phone and Camreigh hadn't really openly started a conversation with me so I thought I would text her on my way to lunch.

ME: hey there book worm whatcha doing for lunch?

I sent her but got no reply, and now that I think about it I didn't see her around the cafeteria or my sister.

"How does your mouth feel?" I asked Sophia who looked like she was in pain with an ice pack over her cheek.

"It hurts!" She mouthed softly trying not to talk to much.

I felt bad for eating in front of her but I was starving. We decided to eat in the Library today because Sophia had been gone all day and it would be quiet in there. Plus Destiny had been trying to start something with me all day for no reason.

When lunch was fixing to end and I noticed a text from Peter my face lit up just as I was about to text him back I saw Destiny and her stupid friend Grace who was dummer than a box of rocks following behind her.

"Aww look at the widdle babies studying at lunch" she said rudely taking a seat next to me. I could tell she was annoying Sophia who already felt bad.

"What do you want Destiny?" I said trying to get it over with so she would leave.

"You know you never have a chance with Peter Kavinsky right?" She said making me feel bad.

"I don't like Pet..." I started to say when she cut me off.

"Look its cute and all, and I know your friends with his sister but you two are from two different worlds it'll never happen so just save yourself the embarrassment and walk away." She said standing up and pushing her seat in and walking away before turning around to say one more thing.

"Plus he likes blondes" she said with a perky smirk that made me want to scratch her eyes out and walked away.
