Saturday

1:12 p.m. I was at Elizabeth's house.

For the first time, I was allowed to go to her room. I guess her parents were learning to trust me a bit more, and it makes me feel glad. Among us friends, I was the first one to get a look of her personal space.

Mrs. Moon greeted me warmly when I arrived at their door. She was carrying a plate of her homemade sandwiches, that was most likely meant for us, and she told me to bring them upstairs.

Mr. Moon was there too, but unlike before when he used to just stare at me like he was judging me, he was a bit more welcoming now. And he didn't come off as cold today as before. He just told me that Elizabeth's room is the door to the left.

I went upstairs, carefully holding the plate of sandwiches. When I reached the second floor, I turned left and there was a single door on the hall.

As I walked closer, I could hear muffled voices from outside the door. When I knocked, I heard Elizabeth's voice telling me to come in, so I opened the door and went inside quietly.

I looked around the room.

It was big. Perhaps, bigger than mine in my aunt and uncle's house. The first thing that I noticed were the walls. She had wallpapers instead of the usual paint, and they were a nice dark blue-colored wall, with a pattern of stars.

The room was bright, despite the dark walls, and the ambiance was rather calm and cozy.

There were posters of her favorite singers and bands, and they were neatly posted on the wall, not cluttered. Picture frames of her and her family also hung there, and there was also a long string of Christmas lights hanging loosely around the room.

There was a single bookshelf on the left side of the room, for all her books and some CDs and DVDs of her own, beside her desk. Her desk, on the other hand, was neat and organized, her laptop placed on top of it.

Her bed was big and it had a lot of pillows, and one giant blue unicorn stuffed toy. It was situated on the right side of the room, next to a nice-looking lamp. There were some frames of white flower petals hanging on the wall by the headboard of her bed.

Aside from the window that was overlooking the front yard of their house, there was a big window beside her bed. I figured it's where she climbs out to get to the roof.

I was fascinated by her room. It wasn't just well-decorated, it was also very clean.

Elizabeth was laying comfortably on a large beanbag in the middle of the room, watching a movie on a small TV. She was still wearing her pajamas, the same cute pair of light blue pajamas from when I first saw her back at the hospital.

"Hey, Lisbeth. Did you do all these?" I asked as I sat down on the floor next to her, setting down the plate of sandwiches.

"What? My room?" She asked back, and I nodded at her. "Oh, yeah. I decorated it. Of course, Dad was the one who moved the furniture. But I decorated all these." She said as she pointed around her room.

"Neat. I like it. I like your wallpaper, too. It's so... you." I said, staring at the dark blue, star-covered wall.

She laughed lightly. "I just... I've always loved the night sky. And the stars, and the moon. They make me feel so... alive." She said blankly, rather to herself than to me. "Oh, by the way. The flowers you guys gave me on the festival, they didn't make it."
