Mark...

A voice was calling my name.

Mark... Up...

When I tried opening my eyes, I could see a faint light.

Mark... Wake up...

I could feel myself being moved and being shook, but I couldn't seem to feel my body.

Mark...

My eyes kept opening and closing, and I could see silhouettes. I could also hear sirens wailing, but it was faint.

Mark... Wake up...

The voice seemed to sound shrill and worried, but it was also faint. I couldn't figure out whom it belonged to.

Mark... Wake... Up...

My eyes slowly opened, a warm light greeting me. Everything was a bit bleary, but I managed to adjust to the low brightness.

"Mark."

A voice called my name. When I looked to where the voice came from, I saw a familiar woman on my right side.

"Aunt..." I barely managed to say in a whisper.

My eyes roamed around the room, and I realized that I was in the hospital.

Aunt Yeoreum held my hand with her right hand while the other caressed my head.

"What... happened...?" I asked weakly.

"You had an accident." A man's voice, whom I assume was Uncle Minseok's, said.

I slowly looked to my left, and sure enough, Uncle Minseok was there.

"You hit a lamppost while you were driving your motorbike." Aunt Yeoreum explained.

When I looked around again, I saw four other people on a couch nearby, sleeping.

It was my friends.

I tried remembering what happened, and fortunately enough, I did. I remembered the night of the accident, I was on my way home.

"Are... you... mad?" I managed to ask.

"No, no. We're not mad. You're alive and you're okay. That's what matters." Aunt Yeoreum answered softly.
