Wednesday
It was a normal Wednesday.
Well, at least for me.
I had completely forgotten about the tradition here in South Korea that on the fourteenth day of March, the guys are supposed to give back to the girls who had given them a Valentine's Day gift a month ago, until I went to school.
When I arrived, I wasn't expecting anything. It was just a normal day for me. But when I walked through the hallways, girls everywhere were so noisy.
They were talking about the gifts that they've received, or have yet to receive, from their boyfriends or crushes or admirers.
I just sighed when I walked through the halls of the school. The girls who were crushing on my friends, their fangirls, were looking at me.
Or glaring, rather.
Oh, boy.
It was not going to be a normal day.
8:23 a.m. I noticed Donghyuck, Renjun, Jeno, and Jaemin chatting with each other during class. I knew they were chatting because they were simultaneously looking at their phones when one of them had sent a message.
What's so important that these guys are chatting right in the middle of class? Hmm...
I just focused on our teacher, who was discussing a new lesson.
As I listened to her, I noticed Mark furiously scribbling on the back of his little black notebook.
I just stared at him curiously. When he noticed me staring, he looked at me and suddenly hid the notebook, then smiled as if nothing happened.
"Writing a new song?" I whispered.
"No—yes—no. Uh... No." He whispered back in a stuttering manner.
"What's that, then?" I asked.
"Uh... Nothing. Hey, what day is it today?" He suddenly asked me.
I gave him a weird look before replying, "Wednesday."
"No. I mean, what date is it today?"
"Fourteen. March. Why?"
"Right." He then smiled at me widely.
