『 Birthday Special: Jaemin 』

"Let me guess, you're actually gonna take me on a date but wouldn't tell me until after the date itself."
"What?"
"That's what Hyuck did on his birthday," I said. "Well, a day before his birthday."
Jaemin looked at me with wide eyes.
"Hyuck took you on a date?"
I looked back at him skeptically. When he didn't laugh or chuckle, I suddenly realized something.
"You weren't supposed to know that, were you?"
"Well, judging from our lack of knowledge thereof, no. We weren't supposed to know that Hyuck took you on a date." He then let out a low laugh. "Would you like this to be your second date?"
4:21 p.m. We were at the backyard of Jaemin's house, waiting for the food to be grilled. He was having a barbecue party for his birthday, which was cool because I've never been to a barbecue party before.
I've never been to any party before all of these. The only parties I've been to was my own party at one and six years old, and at Tabitha's, my childhood best friend, who probably hates me now. I don't know.
But this year, I've been to six birthday parties, including the one we crashed. It's the most I've been to in my whole seventeen (sixteen, originally) years of life, and that's thanks to my wonderful friends.
Donghyuck and Renjun were singing their lungs out while Jeno, Mark, and birthday boy Jaemin were playing their instruments for them. I was playing with the two kids, Chenle and Jisung. I've missed them, even though they were at my house just eleven days ago.
Well, they've missed me too as much as I missed them. Those two kids were really close to my heart.
I've always wanted a sibling, but my parents never granted me that wish because I was a little high-maintenance, ever since my diagnosis.
But I have Chenle and Jisung now, so it was pretty much granted. It's just quite funny how I had to go all the way to Seoul from Canada to meet them.
Anyway, Mrs. Na, Jaemin's beautiful mom, was very delighted to meet me personally, while Mr. Na was excited to see me again as well. Just as I predicted, Jaemin had told them about me already.
