Chapter Seven: Chills in the Digital World

SAM'S POV

I sat in my room with Candlemon. It was Sunday, and everyone was out doing something.

That's when Genevieve burst through the door. "Hey Sam, did you hear? Everyone is heading to get ready. There's a back to school dance tomorrow. Want to go shopping with Kyoi, Delaney, and I?"

I nodded. "Why not?" As we walked out the door, I saw Delaney and Kyoi. I could NOT believe either of them agreed to this. Kyoi is too boyish and Delaney, well, I don't think I've ever heard her speak.

Genevieve's powers of persuasion.

As all four of us walked to the mall, we all looked at the ground in silence. At the mall, we all ran off to find our dresses. Genevieve found a spaghetti strapped red dress with black gloves. Kyoi and I took a long time. When we finally left the mall, Kyoi didn't want to show me.

Did she hate dresses that much?

I don't know about her, but I found something perfect. Delaney got back a while later, silent as always. Genevieve was acting strangely.

Maybe she found something weird.

There were a LOT of weird things in this place. Back at the school, I saw her talking to Delaney. Who, wait, talked back! Delaney seemed kind of nervous. She glanced at Wizardmon every once in a while. I wonder what that was about.

GENEVIEVE'S POV

I felt cold at the store. It was weird. When I left, I felt cold again despite the sun.

I talked to Delaney at the school. I saw some shape that looked like Wizardmon. I asked if he had done it. Delaney shook her head.

"He's been on my feet all day," Delaney told me.

Did she just..... SPEAK?!?

I walked off, wanting to figure out what that was at the store.

I investigated all day. But that night, I found Ken alone in our room.

"Well, Ken, because we've been hanging out together a lot, and there's that dance tomorrow and, do you want to come with me?" I asked nervously.

He nodded. "That would be great!" Ken told me happily. I smiled.

I couldn't wait for tomorrow.

SAM'S POV

I wanted to go with some kid I met at the beach yesterday. Louis. I walked around the school and found his dorm room with some kid Willis.

Louis answered the door.

"Do you want to go to the dance with me tomorrow?" I blurted quickly.

He nodded. "Why not?"

I like him.

KYOI'S POV

I found myself alone in the room with Joe. I looked at Betamon nervously. I was going to ask him. But I didn't have to.

"Kyoi, do you want to go to the dance with me?" he asked.

"Yes! I'd love to, Joe!" My eyes clearly lit up.

Betamon smirked, but I glared at him to shut him up.

DELANEY'S POV

I had been hanging with a lot of kids from school at the beach.

I was walking around the school looking for a date. When I came to the fourth Dorm Hallway, I found myself outside a boy's door.

I felt hesitant with my hand centimeters from the door. I looked at the ground. My hand touched the door quietly. A boy with long black hair answered the door.

Yes.

A boy.

"Hey, Koji," I whispered. "Is Koichi there?"

Koji nodded. Koichi walked to the door.

"Did you hear about the dance tomorrow?" I asked nervously.

He nodded. "Yeah."

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go with me."

Koichi nodded. "We understand each other better than anyone."

"Yeah. The feeling of not belonging sure is familiar."
