Chapter Twenty Two: Question of the Day

GENEVIEVE'S POV

"Hey, Sorcermon. We never really got to talk about anything, since there was the dance and then Devimon. I want to spend the day with you," I said.

"Alright. We don't know each other that well, and we're partners, so okay."

"What are your digivolutions?" I asked.

"Iccmon, Eyymon, Lunarimon, Sorcermon, and I'm not quite sure what my ultimate and mega will be."

"What did you do before becoming my partner?"

"I protected Seraphimon at his palace. I died in a battle there and became a Digi-Egg. What about you?"

"My dad was Gennai. My parents had a forced wedding, but my dad disapproved. His opinion was ignored though. They had me and my mom pressured me into forgetting the Digital World, but my dad knew I was a DigiDestined, so he prepared me. My mom pressured me and my dad couldn't stop her when he was away, which was pretty often. In all truth, I've always lived in the shadow of money, which my mom had tons of. I'm treated differently, which I hate. People want me to be just like my perfect mom, but I don't want that. I'm sick of being compared to her. I want to just be myself." I sighed.

My past was amazing with my dad, but my mom wouldn't let him take me to the Digital World.

At least I was here now.

"What do you think of me?" Sorcermon asked, interrupting my thoughts.

"I think you're an awesome friend. I mean, you put yourself in harm's way to protect me, and I love that about you. I know that we'll have a strong bond. What about me?"

"Brave. Definitely brave. You're never afraid to speak your mind, which shows you aren't quiet. Speaking of brave, you should take this."

Sorcermon held out a tag and crest.

The crest was red.

I took it. "What does the crest mean?" I asked.

"Bravery. When Ophanimon sent me to protect Seraphimon in my past life, she gave this to me to protect as well. I knew it was for my partner, so I waited for you. And now that you're finally here, I can give it to you. It's yours and it will let me digivolve to ultimate and mega. We can discover the answer to your question from earlier together."

I smiled. "Thank you. After what you told me about what you think of me, I hope I can live up to your expectations of brave with this."

"I know you will." We met eyes.

"Thanks."

"What for?" Sorcermon was clearly confused.

"For being a true friend."
