ELLIE'S POV

After Devimon showed up, Kyoi told me to go protect a nearby place called Primary Village. I found this strange.

Why protect there and nowhere else? When I asked Izzy about this, he explained that Primary Village is where all Digimon are born and when they die, become other Digimon.

I walked to Primary Village. Though I would never admit it to anyone, I was a tad jealous of everyone else in the school.

They had partners.

I didn't.

Inside I hoped I would meet my partner in Primary Village.

When I found a place with blocks and toys everywhere, I was determined this was the right place.

I walked around and found a little red and purple Digimon. He looked at me fiercely.

"Intruder!" he shouted. "Super Thunder Strike!"

My eyes went wide and I rolled to the right to avoid the attack. "I'm here to help!" I yelled.

He ignored me. Another lightning bolt chased me. I slid on the grass and ended up on my knees near an egg, dazed.

When a flash of light struck the ground inches from my hand, I saw an egg was about to be burned by the attack. I grabbed it and hurdled over the next attack.

"Put that egg down! Why did you rescue it?" the Digimon commanded.

"I'm trying to help!" I called back. My eyes met his. I felt strange. I couldn't exactly define it, but something was up.

"And just who are you anyway?" I asked.

"I am Elecmon, guardian of Primary Village. And who are you, Intruder?"

"I'm Ellie, a DigiDestined."

"Where's your partner, 'DigiDestined?'" Elecmon challenged.

I went silent. "I don't have one," I whispered.

"That's it then!" Elecmon stopped attacking and ran up to me.

"I talked to a young Koromon, and he claimed to be waiting for someone. I always felt incomplete for some reason, as if I were waiting for something to happen. I think what I was waiting for was my partner!" Elecmon exclaimed.

"What does that have to do with me?" I asked, still suspicious of his change of heart. I stepped backwards, cautious. "

You are my partner, Ellie. We were meant to be together."

I smiled slightly at the thought of a partner. "But how do you know?" I challenged.

"You have a Digivice, right?" Elecmon asked.

I nodded. "You mean this?" I pulled out my small blue device. He nodded.

"Which Digimon appears when you look at it?"

"You, why?" I questioned.

"That's proof. Nice to see you, partner."

Then an earthquake shuddered the ground. I looked up to see a flying Digimon.

I held my Digivice up, which scanned it. "Flymon," I whispered.

He yelled something, but I couldn't hear it over the sound of his wings vibrating.

I covered my ears and hummed, attempting to block out the sound.

No such luck.

I suddenly felt weightless.

I opened my eyes and saw that I was in the air, held by Flymon's claws.

I screamed.

Elecmon looked up. "Ellie!" he shouted. I saw him begin to glow. "ELECMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...LEOMON!" He looked like a lion creature. I gasped. He held a sword, which he smacked Flymon's claws with after jumping.

I fell from his grip and into Leomon's arms. He put me down on the ground, surrounded by baby Digimon.

"Fist of the Beast King!" he shouted.

Flymon screeched and turned into data, which formed a Digi-Egg. The egg set itself on the ground peacefully.

Leomon glowed and became Elecmon again. "Elecmon!" I yelled. "Are you okay?"

"I fine now, partner," he whispered to me with a smile. I picked him up and sat on my knees to cuddle him. I blushed.

Partner.

And now someone was saying it about me.
