ELLIE'S POV
I was walking with Izzy. No signal yet, but I thought we were getting closer.
I hoped we were, anyway.
We walked past a park. I felt myself go pale.
I tried to speed up, but was too far ahead of Izzy when I did.
I flashed back to when I was little. I had loved outside. However, when my dad got a new job, we had packed up and left for New York. There was no grass near our apartment in the heart of the city, so when I got locked out of our apartment because of the gate into the area, the horrible happened.
The gases had gotten me sick, and I almost died.
That's when I abandoned my outside hobbies and went indoors with tech. Ever since, I hadn't played in a park and I tried to avoid outside time because of the stupid gases in the air that had nearly killed me.
Izzy was on his laptop, so I stopped and motioned for him to sit down on a bench with me.
I wasn't about to explain my past to him, at least not now. I pulled out my own laptop and began typing.
I saw a turquoise signal next to a blue and black. Looks like Delaney and Koichi found Koji. They were with Sam and Louis too.
A pair of gray signals were on the other side of the city. Kyoi and Joe.
A green signal was next to a blue one. That was clearly Kira and Willis. Genevieve, Ken, and Davis were all standing still and an unidentified red one was running away from them and towards Izzy and I.
I gently poked him and showed this red signal.
It was Flamemon.
Eventually I could see a weird shadow running closer, blocking out the sun.
Was this the Digimon?
It was the size of a person and didn't seem all that threatening.
I rolled my eyes. This was kind of sad. Regardless, we had to take care of her. Holding out our digivices, Izzy and I watched our partners begin to glow.
"TSUNOMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...ELECMON! ELECMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...LEOMON!"
"TENTOMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...KABUTERIMON!"
The Digimon giggled with a sly smile. Flamemon kicked at Izzy, who stepped to the side in alarm.
She slid to a stop and began running towards me, still giggling. She jumped and I looked up to see her come down inches away from my hand.
"Better not play with fire," she whispered.
I turned around, but she was gone. I looked around frantically, and I finally spotted her in a tree.
Clearly we would need someone with power and speed to fight this Digimon. "LEOMON! DIGIVOLVE!" I yelled.
"LEOMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...SILPHYMON!"
Silphymon jumped into the air. "Eat some Static Force, kiddie!" Pink electricity left Silphymon and struck Flamemon.
"If this doesn't work, we should try and kick it up a notch! FLAMEMON, DIGIVOLVE TO...AGUNIMON!"
Kabuterimon rammed into Agunimon, who was knocked off his feet.
Standing, Agunimon smiled. "Pyro Punch!" Agunimon punched Kabuterimon to the ground, who de-digivolved to Tentomon in the process.
Izzy's eyes widened. Agunimon was a champion, and with the experience Kabuterimon had, he should've taken him down quickly.
Silphymon jumped towards Agunimon and shoved him to the ground.
Agunimon stood and brushed his shoulder, but then turned quickly and began shooting fire bolts from his wrist. "Pyro Darts!"
Multiple hit Silphymon, who returned to Tsunomon.
Agunimon glowed and returned to Flamemon.
Giggling at her success, she flipped away happily.
I picked up Tsunomon.
This was so stupid.
Next time, I would get her.
I promise.
