GENEVIEVE'S POV

This weirdness started about a week ago.

I was chilling at my new locker on the first day of school. I saw Delaney walking with Kari and TK. I knew this was normal, Delaney being the youngest of us four girls and all.

But what I noticed scared me.

Delaney had no shadow!

I had never realized my friend was shadowless.

Until now anyways.

Instead of walking with Delaney and her roommates, I watched from my locker. A weird black streak flew across the floor at lightning speed. Kari's head spun to see the black movement. TK and Delaney watched in confusion as well.

"What was that?" TK asked.

"I'm not sure," Delaney responded. She pulled the younger kids closer to her nervously. I could tell something was on her mind. I could never really tell what that kid was thinking except for when she was around Kari and TK. They had some effect on Delaney's shyness. She actually spoke when they were near.

Maybe she should talk to Kyoi about saying more than five words a day. Though I bet that Delaney would run always scared after one word spoken to one another.

I figured that this black shadow thing was just a prank by some kid. But during one of our classes (our schedule is Digivolving, Fighting Skills, lunch, Enemies, Digital World History, and finally Digital World Exploring), Fighting Skills, the shadow reappeared.

It swirled around Kari's feet before stopping next to TK. After that, the shadow streaked up to stop for the rest of the hour above Delaney. I kept one eye on it while I paid attention. As much as I could with that shadow distracting me, anyways. I found it weird that it reappeared. But what was even weirder was that the shadow appeared for a week, following Delaney around everywhere she went, especially when Kari and TK were there.

I kept an eye on it at all times. When I brought it up to Ken and Davis, Davis remembered that Kari was being followed by Wizardmon. Shadow Wizardmon. Maybe that was what was following Delaney.

But I felt it was something bigger.

DELANEY'S POV

Where was this shadow coming from? I could tell Genevieve was suspicious. Why was it following me? I was walking down the hallway Genevieve lived in when I found two kids in a dorm room. The names read TK and Kari. Weird. When I knocked, they explained how they had younger versions and older versions since they were in two generations. Kari said the shadow was a Digimon named Wizardmon. I asked if they would help me and they said okay.

So that night, we all walked into a hallway where we saw the shadow. Gatomon, Kari's partner, and Patamon, TK's partner, came with us.

"Wizardmon!" Gatomon shouted into the hallway. The shadow formed a Digimon.

Wizardmon.

"Nice to see you, Gatomon. I've returned because my partner is with you. I've been waiting for you, Delaney." Wizardmon turned into a shadow and swirled around my feet.

And he became my shadow.

I was born without a shadow, I guess for this reason. When Wizardmon became my shadow, felt like it was meant to be.

My shadow.

My partner.

"Thanks," I told Kari and TK. We all walked back to their room and I hung out with them before going back to my room, sleeping with my shadow for the first time ever.
