KYOI'S POV

After that, we all walked back into the school. Everybody went to their dorms or walked off and did their own thing. I strolled in my room where a computer geek named Izzy, a girl obsessed with a color I can't see named Mimi, and Joe stayed. They were really nice to let me stay in their dorm. As I got settled in, my eyes kept flickering to that one guy, Joe.

But the next morning was not quite like that.

"Hey Kyoi! Kyoi, wake up! Hey Kyoi, wanna go swimming? We can play at the beach! Hey Kyoi!" I forcefully opened my groggy eyes to see that one kid-um, TK was it?-in sort of light swimming trunks standing in the door way. Everybody in the whole DigiDestined school is going! It's a big, friendly swim party!

"TK, it's not nice to yell at girls when they're trying to get their beauty sleep!" Mimi said, holding a bottle of sunscreen in a swimsuit.

"But she's been 'beauty sleeping' forever!"

My eyes then fluttering to the clock. 10:00. Geez! I guess it's unusual to sleep in on a Saturday then. I got off my bed and grabbed a bikini that I think matched my hair and was walking to the closet of the dorm when Joe, who was wearing light swim trunks and a dark swim shirt with white lining, stopped me.

"You know, you don't have to swim. Izzy's just bringing a chair to sit on with his laptop. Just don't want you to feel like you had to go swimming," Joe said.

"I'm pretty sure I'm going to swim, but thanks," I said, changing into my bikini behind the closet door.

When we got to the beach, it was a frenzy. Splashing, laughing, every form of fun. No wonder TK was so excited. I shrank to the side (as I usually did with my antisocialness) and sat in the shallow water, writing my name in the damp sand.

Then something caught my eye.

It was a lanky dark figure that was squirming all around. Eager to investigate, I pulled on my goggles and slipped into the deep water. I couldn't see much, but I kept my eye on the struggling figure.

Finally, I saw the creature.

It was a long, huge, semi-dark serpent with a white underbody and stripes across his back. He had four fins, the front ones bigger than the back ones and a spade that must have been the same color of his stripes on the end of his tail. The sea creature's head and top jaw had a light exoskeleton type mask with eye holes and three-pronged fins on either side.

Then I saw why it was flailing and struggling. A large boulder had fallen on its lower back. I cautiously headed towards the creature, putting my hands in front of me to show I meant no harm. It stared at me before I went over to the boulder on its back. After counting to three, I shoved my hands into grips on the rock and began to push up.

I don't know whether I used my back or leg muscles-or both-but I pushed as hard as I could, furiously kicking my legs behind me.

By the time the serpent had figured out what was happening, he had barely enough room and began arching his spine. It surprised me greatly, but I wasted no time in shock, as I began to push and kick harder. After what seemed a crisis-like forever, the serpent shot out from underneath the rock. But before I had anytime to celebrate, the boulder came down on me!

WHAT? No! This can't be it! I haven't even told-

Suddenly, a pair of humongous jaws closed lightly closed on me-not biting me-and jerked back.

As I was lowered from the serpent's jaws, I watched the giant rock plummet into the slit, going in at least halfway.

"You nimrod! You nearly were squished!" the creature said after we swam up for air.

"If I hadn't come, you would've been a thin pancake!"

"You didn't let me finish! You were nearly squished! I can't work with a flat digi partner, now can I?"

I looked with admiration as I remembered yesterday as we both swam to the shore.

I was cautious of the party, not wanting to scare anyone. So I led him up to the side of it.

"By the way, my name is Kyoi."

"Seadramon. And thanks for saving me, Kyoi."

"Well, you full on saved me but-"

I was cut off as Tai, Matt, Joe, and Ken all came over to gape at Seadramon.

"Woah. Is he your Digimon?" Tai asked, not taking his eyes off the serpent.

"Last time we saw Seadramon, he nearly killed us!" Matt exclaimed.

"Well I'm sure he won't kill you now," I said beginning to smirk. "Unless I tell him to." The Digimon and I laughed.

"Well, the party is basically over so," Ken faced the serpent. "Can you digivolve into something smaller?"

Without further ado, the Digimon shrank into a round semi-dark with four little legs withholding single huge lightly dark claws. It had black stripes, normal gray eyes, and a short stubby thin tail, and three wide spikes on top (the middle one being much larger than the other two).

"So I guess Betamon will be coming with us," Joe said before turning and walking off.

"Yeah," I sad, my voice coming out a lot smaller than I meant.

Everyone then went back to their dorms and enjoyed the rest of their afternoon.

Me?

I had fun playing with my new best friend.
