Chapter Thirteen: The War Begins

SAM'S POV

I couldn't believe it. After a scream was heard, everyone went nuts.

I looked at Cendlemon, who was right next to me. I pulled out my Digivice.

"CANDLEMON DIGIVOLVE TO.....MERAMON!"

The fire beast stood next to me. I got on his shoulder.

We ran around the school and saw plenty of champions, ultimates, and even a few mega Digimon.

"Hey Meramon," I began. "What are you going to digivolve into?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe a FlareMeramon. I won't be sure until it happens."

I looked down. "Whenever that happens, well, I guess we'll see."

This was our first battle. I was pretty pumped but nervous at the same time. I jumped down from Meramon. I bolted out the doors with Meramon close behind to see an army of Digimon.

I went pale watched this happen. They were circled around the school.

"Where is the crest?" They would chant endlessly, never taking a breath.

Tai, Sora, and Matt appeared with MetalGreymon, WereGarurumon, and Garudamon. Mimi, Joe, and Izzy were shortly afterwards with Lillymon, Zudomon, and MegaKabuterimon.

Where were Kari and TK?

As I glanced around and saw Kyoi, Genevieve, and a sprinting Ellie, I wondered where Delaney went.

I held up two fingers and calmly shook them.

"Attack."

And with that, all of our partners charged, punching, kicking, and throwing attacks in every direction.

I hoped that this ambush wasn't as terrifying as it looked.

GENEVIEVE'S POV

I was right. I stopped by the principal's office and saw Wizardmon fighting Devimon.

I smiled in happiness at my correct prediction.

I dashed outside with Sorcermon by my side. He shot ice beams at many oncoming attackers. I punched any that came too close.

After a few minutes of fighting, then I noticed something. Storm clouds were gathering over head.

A large lightning bolt and boom settled over the school.

The lightning hit Sorcermon and every other Digimon in sight that were fighting alongside us.

"Sorcermon!" I yelled in concern.

He glowed and shrank.

"W-what happened?!?" I stuttered.

"I de-digivolved. Now I'm a rookie Digmon, Lunarimon." He sure was smaller. He was purple with a blue bandana around his neck with a silver moon on his stomach. A blue patch of mask-shaped skin was surrounding his mouth and eyes. He had blue gloves as well.

I looked around to see plenty of other rookie Digimon.

Whoever was leading this army sure was strong.
