Clever Girl:
Clever girl you
Thinking you can twist and turn
The calculations of the universe
To fit your equation.
The world does not care for your
Formulas or your mind
It knows only how to defy
All the logic you put in place.
What makes you clever, girl,
Is how you've learnt to add and subtract
To your methods
And not erase completely.

It's as if
You come straight from the water itself
Woman of the sea,
With your skin dripping salt
Your pours oozing
Violent waves crashing against
The rocky insides of your soul.
Some days,
I feel like I crawled out from the water itself.
