You are gold
Shimmering god damn gold
Glittering for miles
Watch as the sun kissed rays come off of you
Glistening in the warm light
Remember that, wherever you are
Wherever you are tonight
No matter what they say
Those voices in your head,
The people and the things they said
They're all wrong
Because you are golden.

That light
Threatening to break through your skin
To push through the cracks in your paper like heart
Let it in.
Those beams of something else
Determined to push through your core.
Let yourself feel.
Let it warm your bloodstream
From all those years you froze
Let it melt away everything that kept you
From dreaming.
Let. It. In.
And let it do what it was meant to.
Because you are destined for the light.
