A voice so soft:

I listen

To the pretty ladies sing

A voice so soft

Nothing like me

My throat is full of rocks

My soul unclean

I listen to the talented women sing

And I want nothing but to be like them

But when I open my mouth

All that comes out is the shrill shout

Of a girl always longing

To fit in with people she will never be

Love Like You:

I was content once

In the solitude I found

From closing my insides

And retreating to the silence of an empty heart

But as weeks wittle down to months

And as I continue to age on solid ground

The older I get the more I want someone beside

My aching soul to stand together

Against whatever may come

I am alone

And I'm all out of love.

I miss feeling whole, not just on my own.
