Judge And The Jury:
They criticised me before the clothes
Before the hair and before the sharper eyes.
When skin was blotched
And hair was wrong.
They judged me then for being wrong.
And so I changed.
I changed the hair, I changed the clothes.
I changed the mind and the tongue.
Words like steel, unable to feel hurt.
And still they criticise.
Unhappy with any version of me
Regardless if it's made for me
Or for your satisfaction.
Last time I checked
Your friends weren't meant to be
Your judge and your jury.

Not Envious:
They are warm and loving
A team
Supportive and proud.
I am not envious.
I am something akin to glad
Because in them I see
What could of been but never was.
I see potential.
I see us.
