"We're here!" Jack exclaims as he cuts the engine off. The car journey couldn't have ended soon enough, the only sound was the engine, Ember's laughs and the conversation between her and Rian. I knew that we were going to an Italian place, so the restaurant wasn't a big surprise for me, it's Ember. I'm not allowed to see her until we get there, neither is Zack because he'll give it away. Viciously, Jack pulls the blindfold off my face and I jump out the car. I can hear Ember laughing with Rian. I turn to face her and.. Wow. She looks amazing in her dress. A black one that goes to her mid thigh. Her hair is swept up high in a ponytail, her fringe curtaining the left side of her face and I can see the skull and crossbones like mine, behind her ear. She took what I meant seriously. 'Dress nice.' Not that she doesn't anyway.

"Close your mouth." Her friend, who must be Ella, says beside her. Ember just blushes and giggles.

"Uhm. Sorry." I scratch the back of my neck. "You look really good." Zack is looking at her too.

"Thanks. Not too bad yourself." She winks. Jack drags us inside and we wait for a moment.

"Table for...." He has to count in his head how many of us there is. "Six, please."

"Do you have a reservation?" The waitress asks and winks at me.

"Yes. The name is Barakat." Jack nods. I just raise my eyebrow at the waitress. She takes us to the table and we order drinks first. Ember is in the middle of me and Ella, I'm just glad it's not Zack. I know it sounds mean because he's my friend and all, but I really like Ember. Jack and Rian are talking, Zack and Ella, then me and Ember.

"T.E.G." She traces the tattoo on my left hand.

"For my brother, Tom."

"Lullabies." She mouths and I nod. "I know what happened." She says quietly. I look at my tattoo. She kisses her fingertips and presses them onto my hand. I smile a little and look at the menu to distract myself.

"What's a cal-zon-e?" I ask her.

"Oh god. You're no good with food." She jokes and laughs. "It's a folded pizza with stuff inside."

"I'm having that then. What about you?"

"Lasagne." The waitress come back with our drinks, then takes our order.

"How was work then?" Zack asks Ember, just making conversation.

"Good. I meet two new people, Ella and another guy called Arron. And I had two annoying people buzzing around me like flies." She points at me and Jack. I laugh, Jack pouts. "I'm just kidding. It was alright with you guys around. I got off earlier because you were annoying the manager. You can stick around." She says and takes a sip of her coke. I raise my eyebrow. "What? I can be a lightweight when I'm at meals."

"Tut tut. You are no friend of mine." I joke. She shakes her head.

"You know I could just hug you sometimes," she starts sweetly. "To death." She finishes bitterly. I laugh and so does everyone else.

"You wouldn't do that." I flick her arm to annoy her.

"Annoying me isn't getting you in my good books."

"Sorry." I say straight away. She nods triumphantly. I trace the tattoo going round her thigh, the fake garter with the bow on the back, only the part on the front though. She shivers and glares at me.

"It's kinda payback, princess, you did it to my hand."

"You two, get a room." Ella says. Zack goes silent and glares at me. Jack and Rian just nod, agreeing with Ella.
