Dan's POV
Lucy's baby shower ran smoothly. Other than a few mental breakdowns and all. But she finally told everyone that she was going to be having a baby boy! How adorable though, I mean another boy in the family may be a bit annoying but I don't think I could deal with the whole moody teen thing again...
anyway the mental breakdowns were taking hostage of me, Dylan and Jake, then most likely Lucy but I didn't see that because mental breakdown and all. Don't ask about it though.
Phil's operation was in a week. It terrified me but he wanted this. I couldn't stop him with the chance of a normal life. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Though, if I did it and it messed him up more or killed him, I wouldn't be able to live with that either.
*a week and a day later* *Lucy's POV*
My dad was a mess of tears, and I wanted to cry so much but my dad needed me to be strong for him.
I was the first one to see pa lay there, blood running down his neck and his mouth and the cuts from the surgery.
This wasn't meant to happen. The surgery was fine and he was doing well but then he started acting strange and got weaker. Now he was in white in the intensive care unit. We weren't allowed to see him. He was meant to be having another operation to basically vacuum all the blood from his skull.
Dad said he would make it through this to me. This most likely meant it was the reformation of the part of brain missing. The reason he looked ill because of his brain needing to pretty much shut down to put all the fixy things in more focus in the body.
I could trust that, right?
The door opened.
"The family of Phil Howell-Lester can now see him, he is stable, awake, and functioning better than ever"
