I made my way to my locker and shoved all the books in my bag. I only had ten minutes to get to class. I ran to the student administration office and picked up my time table. I scanned through today and I squealed. Yes! I have Biology and I checked the room and it read 205. I ran quickly down the next flight of stairs and quickly reach the door. I lean on my hands and knees to catch a quick breath before I knocked on the door. I didn't want to look as though I was late. I stood straight and smiled. The teacher that opened the door was Mrs. Peters. I love her so much, she makes any subject interesting, even though I like all my subjects already. She welcomed me in and made me sit near a spare table in the back. I sat down and just pulled out my books and pencils to get ready for today's lesson. Mrs. Peters called out my name on the role.

"Jamie Brookes"

"Here miss"

"Lucas Daniels" she called

"Here miss" He opened the door

"Just in time. Take a seat near Jamie Brookes please since you both arrived nearly late" she instructed

When she finished the rest of the role she asked the people that were new to put up their hands, seeing that they weren't any she started to hand out the syllabus for  this year. When she passed it to me, I passed one to Luke. Then I read through the sheet and placed it in my blue folder because that looks like a special colour for biology. Right now we're going to study the basics, like the organic systems, what they do or how they function. After that we're going to go deeper into the body and learn about the mysteries that lie within. Sounds like a book I'd read. But before that she gave us frog legs to dissect. She demonstrated on how to cut, as she was showing us, one of the boys ran out of the classroom. Mrs. Peters asked one of the girls to give him a bucket outside.

She told us that the person we're sitting next to is our partner for the rest of the year. Score!. I turned my head to look at the sheet and smiled. After that, she said we could start. I got out of my seat and went to go and get iodine solution, a scalpel and a glass slide. Luke had no idea where the rest of the materials are. I gave him what I had in my hand and ran to the cabinets to get test tubes, a microscope and a syringe as well as a knife.

I walked back to our table and I see he was wearing a lab coat and goggles.

"You do know we're only cutting things up. It's not like we're using a Bunsen burner" I said sceptically

"I knew that" he smiled.

As much as that smiles give me butterflies, I'm well aware that those butterflies, the frog may have eaten in one stage of its life. I wore my white gloves and place the frog on the table. I flipped the frog on its back and asked if Luke if he'd like to do the honours but he said I should do it. I used the scalpel and sliced the middle of the frog, all the way down. Then I opened the flaps that used to be a belly and looked inside.

"This is cruel" Luke said

"Warts your problem" I said and then I laughed at my own humour.

"Funny"

"What do you want to be" I asked him

"An engineer" he mumbled

"Then why are you doing biology?"

“Personal reason”

After that we continued with the experiments. We had to list down all the organs that we could see, then we had to classify them into the organ system. Then we had to compare the difference between a human and a frog. All of this took a whole period. You'd be surprised how I acted very calm when talking to Luke because this a school subject. So you can talk about anything but once you step out of the classroom, you'd be sure to see me fumble my words like this morning. Class was dismissed and it was time for me to leave the class. As I was packing my books, Jade rushed into the classroom and took my books.
