Wednesday 13th of August

I woke up this morning to the sounds of my beautiful alarm clock. Today is a beautiful day. I walked to the bathroom and the first thing I saw was black hair and I screamed. Ashley ran into the bathroom.

“What’s the matter” she asked

“My hair” I tell her

“What about it” she asks

“It’s still black” I say

“Duh, you dyed it. What did you expect? For it to disappear” she said in a stupid tone

“Yeah” I said stupidly

“Ok, I’ll call Lisa and ask her if it’s a permanent dye, semi-permanent or temporary” Ashley informed me.

She exited the bathroom and I quickly brushed my teeth. I had my shower and shampooed my hair. I walked outside and entered my room. I put on my uniform and did the usual routing. I applied some lip balm and thought I was ready to go.

I walked downstairs and I saw Karen, my dad and Ashley eating breakfast. I greeted everyone and sat down next to Ash. She quickly finished what she was eating.

”Oh, I spoke to Lisa and she said that her and JJ discussed that it was going to be a permanent dye so 6 to 8 weeks” Ashley informed

“6 to 8?” I asked incredulously

“See, this is why you need to ask for permission. I would’ve warned you about what would happen” Karen began and she had her hand on the spot where her heart is.

“Nice ring you have Karen, very nice. Did dad buy it” I asked curiously

“Let me see” My dad took her hand

“I didn’t buy it” dad said confused

“If dad didn’t buy it then who did?” I asked and Karen shot me a glare while Ashley kicked me.

“Um, we’re late for school we better go. All this questioning can happen afterwards”

“Nope, we’re early” I checked my watch and Ashley kicked me harder

“Ah……that reminds me I have to go and help Mrs Fitzgerald” I groaned

I gave dad a kiss on the cheek and told Karen to have a nice day. I walked out the door with Ashley just behind. We started to walk a bit further down the street when she smacked me in the arm.

“What was that for?” I asked

“For putting mum in a compromising position”

“Compromising? More like rightful place. She’s a cheat Danielle” I say

“She’s my mum and you have no right to destroy their marriage” Ashley told me

“A marriage that is one sided. Really Ashley”

“Yeah but for all we know, she hasn’t answered his offer” Ashley reasoned

“Yeah and for all we know, she could be trying to find a way to break it to us” I said logically.

By the time we finished our conversation we had arrived at school. Ashley and I promised not to tell anyone. We walked our separate ways and I walked upstairs. As I walked, everyone was just staring at me. I saw Andrealle and Akemi. They both ran.

“Jamie you dyed your hair. Black suits you” Kemi complimented

“Thanks” I say
