Saturday 3rd of May

I'm grounded and I have three weeks to go. That is 21 days, 504 hours, 30 240 minutes and 1 814 400 seconds. Man, that is depressing. Why am I even calculating this. I know why? Because I'm bored and I'm doing math.

I'm not allowed to read any books, write anything, play on the piano, study anything! I can't study ancient history, English, math, biology or journalism,  yet I'm allowed to watch TV, go on my laptop and use my phone. Completely unfair if you asked me.

My dad took away all the things that were fun and last week he thought that the reason I was being all quiet was because I had a boyfriend. Then he gave me the boyfriend talk and that I could tell him anything.  I didn't say anything and that he would like for me to bring Ben over for dinner. I told him that I wasn't dating him and that he was only a friend and then he got upset that I wasn't telling him the truth. That ever since Karen came, I've been closed off. Now he sees it, yet he can't make any effort. He thinks, I'm trying to be "invisible", which I replied that 'I am'.

He's using the daughter-has-no-time-for-her-old-man card. That I'm a big girl now and think she's too good for her dad and that I can act as if it's just me. Also he thinks I'm behaving like a stuck up daughter.

So then I started using the mum card.

For example, when he told me that he doesn't understand me, I told him that if mum was here she would know what I'm going through. Because she's a girl and that we would bond but now.... That got him leave me alone and since then it's been working.

I know that's really mean but he said that I'm the reason why his relationship with Karen is suffering is because of me. He might as well say that it's my fault he decided to marry her. Oh wait....it is!

My cousin Natasha was coming, she's from my mum's side and everyone was going out for a family outing. I see them hurrying to get things and me. I'm sitting on the chair watching the new hottest hits while eating Nutrigrain. My brother and my sister have let me be. I'm in a funk right now. It's going to take a while. Ashley on the other hand is upset and she's emotional and 'fragile'. According to Karen. She was saying it, she was loud and expected me to look at her. She was blaming me.

I heard the doorbell ring and I went for it. I walked past an upset Ashley and opened the door. There she was. Stylish as usual. I noticed this time she had her brown hair, lightened or whatever hairstylists say. She also had a bit of blonde in her hair. I raised my eyebrow and she smiled.

"I was on twitter last week and Natalie Portman had changed her status. Plus, she in this new movie coming out and she had to do a new look. She dyed her hair to a near chestnut colour. So I thought, my brown hair is kinda boring and I need to do something different. So I though why not dye it and I've been getting non-stop compliments" Natasha gushed.

"Would you like some non-stop criticism as well" I asked and she rolled her eyes.

"But what do you think?" she asked

When I said she was a huge fan, I need to rephrase that. She is obsessed with her. But she did look beautiful and I told her that.  Natasha hugged me and we walked upstairs. But my dad called us downstairs. He was standing at the bottom of the steps. Karen had her hands on her hips. Ashley was putting on foundation to erase any traces of crying and Zach was looking around.

Funny story, before he knew her. He thought that Natasha was hot and that she was my friend. Zach planned on asking her out. I told him that it's not a good idea and that we were related. He didn't believe me and when he did, she told him in front of the family reunion that 'I'm Jamie's cousin and I don't think this is going to work' Since then, he's been avoiding her, what do you expect. It happened during Christmas....last year. Ha!
