Zeldris and Chimera landed in a place that reminded Chimera of the underground caverns of home. A huge black pit surrounded by stone waves. Powerful energy pulsed from the hole. On Mars, a place like that was known as the Impact Zone. It was said that the Impact Zone was the area where the moon Chimera slammed into Mars and split. The energy released from the impact burned Chi and sent it further out into space while Mera remained close to the planet. This impact zone radiated dark green energy. The Impact Zone of home had purple energy and was much larger, covering thousands of square miles whereas this one covered a hundred at most. Whatever had happened in this Impact Zone, it was no doubt an expulsion of huge amounts of power.

Chimera noticed that this energy was similar to the energy from the forest. Were they avoiding the person who had made this pit?

There were other presences in the Earth's Impact Zone. They had the same dark green energy as Zeldris but Zeldris' seemed stronger. Chimera wondered if it was just her proximity to him or if he was more powerful than all of the other presences.

"Wait here," said Zeldris as he walked away.

Once he was out of sight, Chi immediately started talking again.

"He's dangerous" she said.

"Zeldris hasn't hurt us."

"His energy is weird, I don't like it. And there are others."

"What choice do we have? We need to trust him. If he went to the trouble of keeping us away from the other person in the forest, he wouldn't have left us here if it wasn't safe."

"So our only reason to trust him is that he hasn't killed us yet?"

"Okay, relying on a stranger like this is not ideal, but I don't think he wants to hurt us."

"I want to go home."

"I want to keep exploring. This planet just got even more interesting."

"Someone's coming. And it's not Zeldris. Let me take control."

"I've got this. Relax."

Two figures approached. The taller of the two was covered from head to toe in what appeared to be red armour. The other, a floating woman with purple hair covered in purple snake-like clouds of darkness laughed. Despite the purple darkness, her energy was green like all the other energy on Earth.

"I don't think we'll find anyone hiding out here, Galand. Who'd be stupid enough to come to this place?"

Chimera ducked behind a shaft of stone.

"It was right here, Melascula, I swear."

"You have the commandment of truth; you shouldn't lie."

"I'm not stone, am I? I'm not lying... maybe the person I sensed was smart enough to hide."

Chimera's hearts thudded in her chest. Why were these people looking for her?

"Wait..." said the woman, Melascula, "I thought I heard something."

"See? I'm not crazy. You heard those hearts, right?" Galand asked.

"One... no. Three? No, wait."

"Seven."

"It's not seven. Zeldris would have said something if we were expecting company."

Chimera was taken aback that Zeldris hadn't said anything to these two, since they seemed to know him, but maybe he hadn't found them yet.

"Maybe it's our old friend Meliodas come to spy on us."

"Come on, that's not his style. And anyway, it's not seven hearts... Listen."

"Hm.... Six. Six... Six? Who has six hearts?"

"Maybe someone who lost one in battle?"

"I wonder who it is... and I wonder what their soul tastes like."

"Sssshhhh... if we can hear them, they can hear us. Besides, I think I know where the noise is coming from."

The woman said something in a language that Chimera didn't recognize and her twin souls were left looking down at their shared body. The purple darkness shot out suddenly, grabbing Chi's soul. Mera's soul flew towards her sister, unsure of how to free her but willing to do anything to help her escape.

"Release the souls. Now."

The darkness released Chi's soul.

"I didn't hear you coming, Zeldris. I could share the souls with you, if you want" said Melascula.

"No. We're not eating these souls" said Zeldris whose eyes had gone black again.

"Well... they are pretty powerful. Are you recruiting all of a sudden?" Galand asked.

"Get back to the others. They can explain what I've already told them" said Zeldris.

As Melascula and Galand left, Zeldris took Mera's soul gently into his hand and when he tried to do the same with Chi's, she avoided his reach.

"I'm trying to put your souls back in your body. I'm guessing you're not Mera."

The soul, being incapable of speech, said nothing but did let him take hold of her. Once the souls were in the same hand, he clamped it firmly over Chimera's mouth, pushing the souls back inside. The body fell as each soul tried to regain control of it. Zeldris caught it before it hit the ground.
