The ride took about as long as Zeldris' jumps and Chimera was anxious to look around for the demons and kill them quickly. The sun rose quickly and the ground grew hot. She suspected Galand didn't like the heat because of his thick armour-like plates of what she was pretty sure was keratin or some other biological chemical. The heaviness probably trapped heat. She'd need to track him into the network of caves that wove deep into the mountainside. Chimera dismounted and collapsed her vehicle back into a scanner. The weird energy had gotten stronger and it was straight ahead. The demons were further off.

No, she wouldn't let curiosity get the better of her, but she did want to assess the threat this other individual might cause.

"We need to be diplomatic here; let me take control," Mera said.

"You had the body all day yesterday. It's my turn. I want to take care of this myself."

She walked into the cave and noticed it was mossier than the ones on Mars, but other than that it was similar. As it was out of the sun, the first bit of the tunnel would be significantly cooler than outside and it was likely the demons were hiding in that part of another cave. She hoped Melascula was shivering so spilling her blood could warm her.

The further into the cave she went, the hotter it got. That wasn't unusual, but this heat was more intense than Chimera was used to. She wiped her brow and trudged forward, she didn't even need her scanner to feel the waves of intense yellow-with-a-tiny-hint-of-green energy blasting from the centre of the cave. She was almost there.

She stopped short and hid behind a stone when she finally saw the huge shirtless man it was coming from, and in spite of herself she noticed his muscles first. She peeked out from behind the rock. The man hadn't noticed her and continued to lift barrels. Eventually he walked into an adjoining tunnel, carrying the barrels as if they weighed nothing.

"Hot in here, isn't it?" said Mera.

"Shut up."

Chi's cheeks grew hot and she found herself blinking a lot. Had the man been glowing? Her eyes felt dry, like she'd stared at the sun for too long. The man would dwarf any of the warriors back home. And with the aura of raw power she'd felt coming from him, she had no doubt that he was a man who could take on an army and come out unscathed.

He returned quickly and Chimera hid again. She found herself looking again. Such clear blue eyes. And his hair. Styled so simply but there was just something about it.

"What do the humans call the lip hair, again?" Chi asked.

"A moustache. Do you like his moustache?"

"Shut up! Just... be cool."

"You be cool," Mera laughed.

Suddenly the stone was hoisted into the air and Chimera found herself face-to-face with the man. She felt it would have been much better if she were speechless but she wasn't.

"I LIKE YOUR MOUSTACHE!" She blurted before clamping her hand over her mouth and ducking behind a wall with cheeks even redder than usual.
