Lunar Twins (Zeldris x OC) (Escanor x OC)

Part 33

Chi took aim and slowed her breathing. She had to give Shu'tar credit for this one thing. He had taught her to shoot a laser pistol with a coin-sized grouping. As such, neither Chi nor Mera was prone to missing a shot. Chi made sure to take her time.

"Just shoot already."

"Let me focus. Will shooting you in the head kill you?"
"Nah, I'll regenerate."

Chi took aim again and pointed the gun towards the Fox Sin's heart. She fired and hit her mark. No surprise there. Ban fell. Chi put the safety back on the laser pistol then walked over to Ban to help him up.

Chi fount that Ban was still alive when she reached him. She offered him her hand and he took it, grinning.

"That was fun!"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. Shoot me again!"

Before Chi could take aim again, the rest of the group -- minus Gloxinia and Escanor -- came down to see what she and Ban were up to.

"You ready?" Chi asked.

"Chi, what are you doing?" Mera asked.

"Shooting the immortal human again."

"What?"

"He said I could."

Mera rolled her eyes. "Don't kill him," she said.

"He told me he can't be killed."

Mera shrugged. Sometimes it was best to let her sister do crazy things with the weapons. It kept her out of trouble, for the most part. Zeldris was warm against her back. He seemed tense around his brother, but Mera wasn't surprised. She'd seen what the blond demon was capable of in Zeldris' memories.

Shu'tar's conversation with Meliodas ended peacefully, on the condition that Escanor was returned safely to Earth as soon as possible. Meliodas grinned at the sight of Ban playing with the alien's gun.

Chi handed the gun to Ban, who decided that shooting himself in the foot, mouth, head, and chest was a good way to spend time. He came back laughing after each shot and Chi wasn't sure what to make of him.

"Hey, Chi," Ban whispered.

"Yeah?"

He handed the gun back to Chi.

"Why's your twin hanging around with a demon like Zeldris?"

Chi put the safety back on and holstered the gun.

"She likes him. Sees the good in everyone."

"How's that worked out for her?"

"Ha. You're more like me, cynical. To be fair to Zeldris, if he wanted to hurt us he's had dozens of chances and hasn't taken any of them. My soft-hearted sister may be naive, but she's far from stupid."
