"Our weapons range from technologically advanced and devastating to simple brute force."
"Which do you prefer?"
Chi grinned, "I prefer brute force and sharp blades."
She found it nice to be able to talk weapons for once with someone from another planet. At home she needed to remain diplomatic. Any discussion about weapons with the Titanese or the people of Europa was perceived as a threat. The people of Earth seemed much more open about it, to say the least. And, unlike the pomp that came from elite warriors back home, Ban spoke with her like she was an actual person with interests.
"Do you have any energy weapons?"
"We have tons of those."
"This is gonna sound weird, but do you have one on you?"
"I don't really see the weirdness of your question, but my general has one. I didn't think I'd need anything more powerful than my dagger for this trip."
"Here's the weird part. Can you shoot me with it? I wanna see what it feels like."
Chi laughed at his absurdity.
"You'll die."
"I'm immortal. Did Escanor not tell you that?"
Chi's mind was still processing the memory ceremony she'd done with Escanor earlier, but the more she thought about it, the more she seemed to recall that Escanor had seen Ban heal instantly from what should have been mortal wounds.
"Right," she said, "I'll get it, then. Do you want to ride up there with me?"
Ban nearly knocked the flying machine over when he jumped to get onto it, but it righted itself and the pair of warriors floated over to where Chi's twin, Zeldris, Meliodas, and the general were talking. Ban didn't see Escanor anywhere, but he guessed that if the alien had met him, he must be nearby. Chi saw no sign of Gloxinia, but she wasn't overly concerned about him at the moment.
"Shu'tar," Chi said.
"Yes, your highness?"
"I need to borrow your laser pistol."
The general sighed and handed the princess his gun. Chi grinned and floated back down to the ground with Ban.
"Are you sure about this?" Chi asked.
"Yeah, come on! Do it!"
"Alright..."
Chi raised the weapon.
