"No! You're supposed to say: 'Y/N! You piece of shoot, what did you do to me?!' " I shook my head as he looked at me in utter confusion. "Why would I say that?" He asked as he looked at me with a slight frown.
I was in a loss for words. He was just joking around, right? "John, this isn't funny," I hissed at him, getting a bit irritated. "What? Who's John?" He asked, sitting up. I rolled my eyes. "You," I told him as he looked around. "How do we get back to camp?" I asked as he looked back at me. "Camp?" He asked, cocking his eyebrow up. "I don't know how long I can keep this fire going," I told him, ignoring his question. "We'll both freeze," I warned him.
"I don't know where the camp is," He carefully told me as I groaned. "We're stuck in the blizzard and you're just-" I stopped myself and inhaled sharply. "You're acting clueless," I filled in for myself in a mumble.
"Alex, the girl doesn't know what a f*cking bucket is," John pointed out as he finally stood up.
"Because I don't trust you with a strand of my hair," John huffed and got up.
John let his tight grip go and looked at Y/N. "You stupid b*tch," He chuckled as he rubbed his face. She smiled. "Any time!"
I sighed. I guess I could understand why John didn't like me. He was in a stressful situation and I kept acting dumb or irrational. That's how we got stuck in the storm, due to my recklessness. I looked back at John. "Are you okay?" He asked, worried a tad bit. I smiled at him. "I'm fine, are you okay?" I asked as he nodded.
As I looked outside, I saw that the blizzard had slowed down. It would be now or never. I sighed and stood up. I helped John and told him to follow me. I guess I know the way back to camp. But it was going to take us a while.
~~Literally 15 minutes later~~

"Oh look!" I beamed as I pointed at Alexander. "GUYS!" He yelled at us. He seemed so angry at us. I swear to God, the snow was melting around him. We waddled through the snow, towards him. "Lafayette came back alone and was asking soldiers to go on a search party! That's when I decided that you guys would probably find your own way back to the outskirts so I stayed here for a good 15 minutes in the cold!" He lectured us as John leaned on me.
On our way over here, I had discovered that John had injured his leg pretty badly when he fell over on me. He leaned on my shoulder with his hand so he could walk normally. Alexander noticed the contact as we walked towards him.
"What's up with him?" He asked, folding his arms and cocking his eyebrow. I looked at John and he looked at me. "Can we discuss this inside?" I asked, making John throw his arm around my neck so he could walk quicker. Alexander looked very worried but nodded. We followed him inside our tent. I sat down John on his bed and sat next to him.
Alexander sat on the bed across from John and frowned deeply. I looked at John. "John lost his memory," I dropped the bomb. Alexander's mouth fell open. "W-What?" He asked as I sighed. "We were in the blizzard and he was freezing to death," I explained as Alexander shifted his look from me to John. "And I think he lost his memories because of that?" I guessed.
"Possibly," Alexander cut in for me. "But it shouldn't be permanent," He pointed out as I let out a sigh of relief. "OH THANK GOD!" I wheezed as John and Alexander looked at me with this weird look. I coughed.
"So how long?" I asked shifting the center of attention to Alexander. "Well," He thought for a second. "He's dazed," He started as he pointed at John. "You can compare it with the feeling you get when you woke up from a deep sleep. The only difference is that this may take a while," He continued. "So you need to talk to him, remind him who he is," He explained to me as I looked over at John. He had been looking at me all this time."It's somewhere in there, you just need to remind him," Alexander finished and looked down.
"Can't you do it?" I asked looking away from John. "I have work, you don't," He argued back. I sighed and nodded. "I'll do it," I agreed. "Great," Alexander smiled and stood up. "I'll be back," He told us and gave me a shoulder pat. I smiled back as he left. Then I looked back at John.
"Let's get you fixed," I mumbled as I turned my body towards him. "You're John Laurens," I started as he nodded. "I got that from context clues," He chuckled at me. I was amazed. I hadn't seen him smile at me for a very long time. "Erm," I coughed it off. "My name is Y/N and the guy you just saw, that's Alexander Hamilton," I explained.
"He's your best friend and I'm...I'm just someone you know," I introduced us. "I think we know each other better than that," He smiled at me. I shrugged. "We do, but you never really liked me," I tried to explain, looking down.
"Why?" He asked as he bowed his head down so he could make eye contact with me. "Well, I don't really know," I dismissed and straightened my back. "That's stupid," He chuckled which made me chuckle as well. "I don't know," I smiled and looked away from him. My smile faded slowly as I did.
I heard John sigh. We stayed quiet for a few seconds. "Y/N?" I heard John call. "Hm?" I hummed as I turned my head back towards him, only to see that he was closer to me than a few seconds ago. "W-What's up?" I asked, slightly nervous. "Can I try something?" He asked, looking me right in my eyes. He had been very smooth with eye contact!
"Sure?" I agreed as he came closer and pressed his lips on mine.

And why did it feel so right?
For the first time in a while, it seemed as if I could breathe again. As if my throat didn't feel clogged. My stomach twisted and turned and my temperature rose. I kissed him back and he caught it instantly.
While this was happening, I had put my hand around my throat to feel the petals go down. John had fetched my hand from my throat and put it beside me so I could lean into him. The ill feeling I had began to fade away into nothingness and I didn't want it to stop.
So I didn't.
Lafayette's P.O.V
"ALEXANDER, merde de cheval! Tu ne pouvais pas m'avertir il y a une heure qu'ils étaient de retour? Qu'est-ce que je suis censé faire avec ce bataillon de beaux hommes maintenant?!" I yelled at Alexander who plugged his ears as he held his letters to congress in hand. "I'm sorry, I had things on my mind," Alexander apologized, glancing over to the battelion.
I sighed and turned to my battalion of helpful yet awfully handsome men who had agreed to go on a search party with me. "Sorry guys, they've been found," I dismissed them. Some shrugged other said a quick: 'That's okay' as they dispersed.
Alexander frowned and turned to me. "How did you even get them all together-"
"Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to, mon ami,"
"Okay! I'll see you later!" Alexander scurried off. I shook my head with a smile and walked to the tent.
"Hey, guys-"
I chocked on my words and froze as I made myself shut up and back up. There was no way that I just saw John and Y/N-...I looked back inside and saw them kiss deeply. I felt the petals rise from my throat but held them in as I shook my head and closed the flap. My hand lingered on the tent for a few seconds before I backed up.
I was trying to comprehend the situation as tears welled up in my eyes. My throat was getting tighter and tighter. I coughed to get some of the tightness to fade and it did, by only a little bit. I forced myself to turn around and walk towards an empty tent so I could puke all my feelings out.
Literally.
