3rd Person's P.O.V

Y/N was mad. No, not mad. Furious. How could Lafayette hide such an important fact from her? She could've helped him. She could've known she wasn't the only one. She could've spoken more openly to him about it. She could've...She could've done something.

Quick in pace, she walked to her tent. Hercules was catching up to her. Rain started to drip out of the sky and seemed to fall in larger portions out of the air. Y/N offered the sky a glance before marching to her tent. She jerked the flaps open. Her soaked uniform full of seawater and dirty rain dripped inside the semi-dry tent.

Her frustrated eyes scanned the tent. Alexander's bed was full of paper, John has folded his blanket on his bed, Hercules' bed didn't have a mattress for months now. It was donated to a soldier who actually needed it. To her surprise, Lafayette's mattress was gone too. Her shoulder slowly relaxed as she stared at the dirty wooden crate where the mattress used to lay.

Hercules looked over her shoulder in surprise. Y/N huffed with a frown and pushed Hercules out of the way. She stared at her for a second before entering the tent and laying down his stuff on his wooden crate. He figured that whatever she had to do, it was not going to involve him. He had to wait until she came back with Lafayette.

He reached into his bag and pulled out the 2 glass tubes filled with a golden liquid. The mixture fizzed in the tubes making Hercules sigh. He had forgotten to tell an important detail regarding the mixture.

Y/N's P.O.V

'That mother loving baguette is going to Chesapeake Bay and didn't even tell me.' I thought as I forced myself through the mud puddles. 'Good thing that I overhear things from Alexander.' I sighed as I felt my socks absorbing the mud.

Alexander has issues.

He talks in his sleep.

I don't want to tell you what I have heard besides: 'Lafayette, you go to Chesapeake and I'll kaBOOM my way through those soldiers,'

But I'm going to give you one example.

'Not here, they'll see us.'

That sums it up.

I knew Lafayette would be near the troop bases. The place where generals get their battalions and then get to explain their plan to those battalions. He had to be there. He just had to. And sure enough.

"Gilbert!" I yelled with the manliest voice I could muster. Lafayette was explaining something to a group of 25 elite soldiers. They all turned their head and Lafayette looked terrified. "You, me, tent, now," I hissed at him, soaked in water. Lafayette gave his soldiers a glance. "We'll resume in an hour," He apologized before following me to our tent.

We arrived at our tent. Hercules came out. "The potions are on my bed-like-thing," He explained slowly as he saw my annoyed expression. "I have to tell you something about the potion," Hercules added silently.

I sighed but nodded. "Sure," I regrouped and tried to smile at Hercules. Lafayette and I sat down on my bed. I folded my arms and looked at Hercules. "The potion gets rid of the disease," Hercules informed us and I nodded, very attentive.

"There's one little detail,"

I felt the aura in the tent become darker and heavier.

"If you drink that elixir, not only will it get rid of the disease. It will also get rid of all your feelings for that person," He slowly told us. Lafayette choked on air and I looked down. "I had to steal this from a potion maker and I don't think I could get away with it again so you need to be very careful with these 2. I can't give you any other potions," He reminded us.

The first thing I did was stand up and give Hercules a hug. "Thank you for everything," I thanked him. He embraced me. "We'll handle this," I reassured him and let go. He nodded and left us alone.

As soon as I did, I turned to Lafayette.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked, cocking my eyebrow. "I didn't want to worry you," He mumbled, looking down. "I don't have any worries, have you seen me?!" I snapped at him but immediately regrouped myself with an inhale. "You could've-"

"I couldn't!" He yelled at me standing up. Now I became angry. "Yes, you could've!" I hissed back at him. "It's not that simple," He hissed back, turning his back to me and clutching the edges of Alexander's table in his hands. "Give me one good reason why you coul-" I began to mock him.

"Because you're the reason why!" He snapped, still keeping his back turned to me. "Lafayette," I immediately mumbled. "You don't love me as I love you," He started to explain. "You will never love me as I love you," He continued as he turned around, showing his tear tracks in the dim candlelight.

"And that's not your fault," He assured, smiling. "It's mine,"

"I-"

"And sure," He scoffed as I shut my mouth. "I believed that it was going to go away after a while," He told me, still smiling. "But the petals hushed me,"

His eyes diverted from mine to the glass tube. He reached for the golden liquid and held it in his hand. "Tonight I'm leaving with my battalion to Chesapeake Bay," He explained, looking at the tube. "Destiny had a cruel plan with us, Y/N," He chuckled and opened the cork of the tube.

"But destiny is still destiny,"

My eyes widened as Lafayette poured the golden liquid in the grassy floor. "And if destiny told me to fall in love with you, I will not change its course when I don't even want it to myself," He smiled at me. "I love you too much to make myself forget you,"

I snatched the other tube and pressed it in Lafayette's chest. Tears streaming down my cheeks as I did. "You," I barked, tears streaming down my cheeks. "You listen to me," I demanded as he looked down at me, pure sadness radiating from him.

"F*ck destiny,"

Lafayette widened his eyes. This was the first time I had ever cursed.

"I'm controlling our destiny now,"

"You are going to take this tube," I ordered. "When you get out of the camp with your battalion, you're going to drink this," I sobbed. "You're going to win your battles and you're not going to die," I demanded from him.

"And especially not from a flower. That's pathetic," I reminded him, making my lips form a smile. I let go of the tube and it softly landed in his hands.

"I'll figure something out," I smiled at him, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Promise me," I told him. He sighed, knowing he could never change my mind. "I promise," He sighed making me smile even wider. I hugged him. He gave me a tight hug before leaving me alone.
