🏃Clark's POV🏃
“Hey! Can you guys hear me?” They asked cheerfully. The smile sitting comfortably on their lips fell slightly as they did not hear a response. Tapping on their computer a couple of times, they asked again. “Hey! Is this working?”
Groaning, Mason went to turn off his phone when he heard laughing and chuckling.
Mason picked up his phone again and frowned deeply when he saw his friends laughing through the skin.
“Gosh, you guys are annoying.” He muttered not-so-softly under his breath. Ignoring his ‘m-utterance’ we laughed a bit louder. Although it was quite funny, it was primarily because we wanted to annoy Mason further.
“Why did you guys even do that?” Mason asked, sighing as he tilted his head down to fight back a smile.
Daniel, who was on the line, shrugged.
“I guess we all thought that it was kind of dumb that you would even ask the question.” Daniel answers first. Mason scoffed loudly as a response.
“Well sorry that I wanted to confirm that there were no problems with Facebook Calling.” Mason sassed, defending himself smoothly.
“Messenger Calling, actually.” Jasmine corrected innocently. It definitely was not really innocent as she grinned the moment that she saw the annoyance on Mason’s face. “And I just didn’t have my side of the sound on yet. But, I decided to stay silent when I noticed what they were doing.”
Mason, somehow not fed up with the situation, then turned to me.
“What about you, Clark? Santiago?” At the sound of his name, I shifted a bit to give the rest of our friends a clearer view of Santiago who sat next to me and was leaning in to see my computer screen fully.
I glanced back at Santiago to see if he wanted to speak first, but when he didn’t, I took that as a green light.
“We both just followed along like busybodies, if you must know. And your reaction was really cute, Mason.” After explaining, I teased Mason while creating a higher voice simply for his enjoyment. Mason looked to be more upset now than he was before he asked Santiago and I to explain, but he asked for it. I was just giving him the truth.
“Anyways. This is going nowhere. I should just leave you guys without the invite.” Mason said spitefully, crossing his arms as he did so. “We don’t need you to show up.”
We all perked up at that and immediately went asking questions.
“What?”
“What invite?”
“Who’s we?!”
Mason slowly smirked at having gotten the upper hand and tried to look nonchalant.
“Well, you all do remember that Mark and I started university already-”
“How could we not?” Daniel teased, interrupting Mason. “You guys never stop talking about it.”
“Hush!” Jasmine hissed, stopping Daniel from continuing. “He might actually stop talking.” Mason glowered at Daniel who just gave the other boy a confident grin.
“-and at the university, there is a fraternity that’s goal is to unite the student body through, like, activities and stuff. The school loves them because they don’t throw usual parties. They mostly do fun PG-13 events and stuff. Anyway, they’re having a talent night in a couple of weeks.” Mason paused to throw a smirk our way. “And I think we all know a very talented person.”
