This year is my final year of school. This is my last year as a cheerleader, captain of the squad as a matter of fact. I had to fight for it that's for sure. Well, I think my dad may have pulled a few strings years ago just to get me on the squad but over the years I have worked really hard to make it to where I am today. I thought about getting a scholarship at one of the colleges in cheer but a part of me is ready to move on to something else.

Yes I date one of the football players. My dad did not like that at first and honestly still doesn't. However, Jake and I have been together for the past three years and I think Jake is scared of my dad. I mean the whole town is practically afraid of him. Why? Because he is the sheriff of this little town and he doesn't take any crap off of anyone. Matter of fact I think most of the town has probably gotten a ticket or two from him.

He doesn't bother me too much, not since mom left. I don't know what really happened between the two of them. One day she was here and the next she was gone. No explanation. I have a feeling I must have done something wrong but dad says that it wasn't me. She has been gone for over four years now and my dad has been trying everything to take care of me. So when Jake came along of course he gave him hell.

We are allowed to go out but I have to be home no later than nine on school nights and that's if I have all my homework completed. Then on weekends depending on if we have a game or not depends on what time I have to be in. My dad attends all the games, all of them and believe me when I say he watches the game he does but he also has his eyes on me. I don't know what his problem is. I guess he is afraid that I am going to step out of line or maybe something is going to happen to me. I don't know how many times I have told him that I can very well take care of myself.

For starters my dad has taught me several self defense moves. He wants to make sure that I can handle myself in any given situation. Not only that but hello my name is Katana, do you even realize how many times people have talked about my name. I asked him one day...why did him and my mother chose that name and well here it goes. You see, my dad is a huge DC fan. I know right you got to be kidding me. He gives me the scoop about how she was a samurai warrior who's skilled with a sword that is also called Katana and was always fighting for justice. Like my dad being a sheriff...fighting for justice. I mean hell they could have named me Harley now she is a badass but that sure in hell didn't happen.

Well I am no superhero that is for sure but I do have some mad skills on the cheer squad. Tonight we are finishing up for the season. The team of course kicks ass; we always do and the crowd claims it's because we know how to cheer our guys on. I see my dad standing off to the side by the gate, he is arresting Mr. Harper again for drinking at the football field. His son Anthony is one of the bigger guys on the team. Who is also one of Jake's best friends. I look over on the field and poor Anthony looks so embarrassed as my dad cuffs him. It's not the first time and I am sure it's not the last time.

After the game we all go to the Pizza Place and order pizza. No one mentions Mr. Harper but it's in the air. I know that they are talking about it but not to me because I can't help that my dad plays by the rules. Maybe that is why I am a little afraid to get out of line. I bet he would throw me in jail if he had to.

"Hey you guys want to go to Will's; he is planning on having a kick ass party?" Blake asks everyone as a group.

"Sure man...let's get out of here," says Jake as he takes me by the hand to pull me along.

"You know I can't go," I tell him as we head out the door.

"Ana...for once live a little. It's just a damn party. Come on everyone is going to be there," he tells me as he opens the door for me to get into his Mustang. I roll my eyes at him but get in the car anyway. I do want to have fun, it's the consequences that I don't want to have to deal with. And believe me when I say my dad won't find out that is a huge lie because my dad knows everything that goes on in this damn town.
