POV: Lilly
The sun shown into the room though the open curtain waking me from my sleep. Last nights memories came flooding back and my face turned a cherry red. I got up quickly, took a bath, and changed into a dark pink dress with light purple lace. I brushed my hair and found a pink headband to wear. I went back into my room as Sebastian came in. We made eye contact and my face turned red again.
“Good morning. The young master wishes to see you at breakfast.” He told me. I nodded and followed him to the dinning room. Ciel was sitting in the same seat and I sat next to him.
“I’m having a guest today. I would prefer if you would avoid contact with him for he might contact Mr. Miller,” Ciel explained as he took sips of his tea and read his paper.
“Would you like some Earl Gray, Miss. Lilly?” Sebastian asked holding the teapot over my empty cup. I blushed again as I nodded. Ciel gave us a look but it was ignored. When Sebastian brought out the food, a poached salmon and a salad with scones, we again ate in silence.
When we finished I was excused and went into the kitchen. I was meet by a blond man with a flame tougher. “Who are you?” he asked in an American accent.
“I’m Lilly. I will be staying here for a while.” I smiled ignoring the look I earned.
“This is Bard. He is the cook.” I turned to see Sebastian standing next to me. “You meet Mey-Rin yesterday, correct?”
“Yes I took her glasses off and she left my room.” Both of them looked at me a little surprised.
Sebastian composed himself again and continued what he was doing. He walked over to the counter and started cooking.
“Can I help?” I asked looking at the easy tasks.
“Can you cut vegetables?” I nodded and he pushed a cutting board and a knife to me. The veggies were in a pile and I cut them and put them into a bowl. Sebastian was cooking a desert of some sort and I smiled. This felt nostalgic.
When I was done cutting veggies I went to the library. I watched the gardener fix the dead garden and place rocks and sand down. I smiled and continued to read my book.
I was halfway done with the book when Sebastian placed a plate in front of me. “This is your dinner.” I looked down at the veggies I cut mixed with thin pieces of backed beef. I smiled and ate the food after Sebastian left. When I was finished I brought my plate to the kitchen. On the way back I found Mey-Rin swinging a bucket around.
“Mey-Rin.” I called out to her and she turned to look at me. The bucket was gone and she only held the handle. “I’m sorry for what I did yesterday.”
She smiled. “That’s ok.” I was glad that we could try and be friends again.
“Ahhh!” We turned to see a man on the stairs. His leg was in the bucket and it was all twisted.
I gasped as he took off running when Bard and the gardener came by with a picture. “Wait come back your injured!” I ran after him.
I walked around again and decided I was lost. I picked a direction and kept walking when I a blood-curdling scream filled the halls. I put my hands over my ears and backed up against the wall. I knocked over a table with a vase and it fell to the ground in a crash scaring me even more. I sank to the floor and curled into a ball, shacking in fear.
POV: Sebastian
I finished what need to be done with the guest and went to investigate the crash I heard earlier. When I found the location of the sound I found Lilly curled up in a ball shaking. I grew angry with myself and found myself kneeling down next to her. She leaned into me when I wrapped my arms around her. Her shacking slowly stopped and I picked her up. I carried her to her room and placed her on the bed.
I turned to leave and she grabbed my tailcoat, stopping me. “Don’t go,” she whispered.
I sighted. “I’ll be right back. I have to put the master to sleep.” I patted her head lightly and she let go. I smiled and left to tend to the master.
When I returned she hadn’t moved. She looked up at the door with scared eyes when I entered. She stood and ran into me crying. I wrapped my arms around her and she calmed a little. I brought her over to the bed and sat next to her. She rested her head on my shoulder and I kissed the top of her head like it was a habit. Her sweet sent entered my nose. It was the amazing sent of roses and cherries.
“Sebastian. I feel like I’ve known you forever. I feel like this is normal and this is how its supposed to be. I feel safe and warm in your arms.” She whispered into my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around her pulling her closer. She looked up and our lips were inches apart. I closed that space and pressed my lips to hers. She didn’t resist but pushed in closer. We pulled apart and she rested her head in the crook of my neck. “Sebastian. I think I love you.”
