POV: Lilly

I awoke to cold air. When I sat up the strong sent of rotting flesh filled my nose and I looked around. Ciel sat shivering and Sebastian was fighting off a large number of the dead that seemed to be swimming. Sebastian used an oar to crack in the heads of the dead, protecting us.

My eyes traveled to Ciel who was still shivering in the cold air and he appeared to be soaking wet. Worry filled me and I quickly wrapped my arms around the boy to give him the little warmth I could. He small body snuggled closer at my touch but he continued to shiver.

I was beginning to feel the cold too as I noticed ho depleted my energy was. I haven’t had any blood to drink since Sebastian gave me some when I still didn’t remember. The faint sent of Sebastian’s sweet blood wafted past the rotting smell and I felt an intense hunger begin to overtake me. I fought it so I would not harm Ciel but as I fought it the more and more cold it got. The frozen water on my skin burned and I had to release Ciel and move to the other side of the boat.

“Lilly?” the boy asked questionably as I stared at him with wide hungry eyes and held my hand over my mouth and nose. I could tell that by the way he looked at me I could tell that my eyes had turned a blood red.

By this point the boat had stopped shaking and the sun was rising but all I could think was to hold myself back. My eyes traveled back and forth between scared Ciel and worried Sebastian. There was a crack as my hand squeezed too hard on the side of the boat.

Sebastian took a step closer and I tried to back up more. I was afraid that if he got any closer I would attack him so I keep scooting away. He moved closer again and I jumped back only to begin to fall off the side of the boat. A small scream escaped my mouth as I fell backward. I closed my eyes and braised for the clod water only to not meet it. Two arms held me close and the sweet smell of blood filled my nose. I shoved Sebastian away and tried to escape.

POV: Sebastian

I brought the oar down on the last head of the dead and everything was still. “Lilly?” the young masters voice asked causing me to turn. On one side of the boat sat a scared young master and on the other was Lilly.

Lilly’s hand held tightly onto the side of the boat and her other hand was brought up to her mouth. Her eyes were a deep red and full of hunger but also fear. The way her hand held onto the boat showed that she was restraining herself.

Slowly, I took a step closer to her. Her eyes darted to me and she pushed herself closer to the side of the boat. I took another step and she panicked and jumped. She fell back off the side with a small scream. I ran over to her and pulled her back into the boat before she could hit the water.

Her eyes darkened as she looked up at me when she was back in the boat. In a quick motion she pushed me away and tried to escape again. She panted revealing sharp fangs that protruded from her mouth.

Soon here eyes dulled and the fear disappeared leaving only hunger. They looked down at the young master who looked at her in fear. A smirk creped onto her face and I had to act fast. I quickly brought my hand down onto her neck and she fell forward. I caught her and laid her down.

“What just happened?” The young master asked, till slightly scared. His eyes watched Lilly as she breathed calmly.

I looked down at her, remembering the fear that was in her eyes. “She used a lot of energy back on the ship and I believe her body needed to replenish that somehow. By the way she acted she was trying to fight some kind of hunger,” I replied trying to make sense of the situation myself.

POV: Ciel

As soon as my fear died down worry replaced it. Her breathing slowly became weak and even in her sleeping state she began to shiver. I brought my hand to her forehead and felt that it was burning up. “She has a fever,” I said looking up at Sebastian.

His eyes widened and he put his hand on her forehead. “She might have hypothermia. Because she is a demon this shouldn’t be happening but she may be too weak to prevent it,” he spoke in a worried tone and looked down at her with sad eyes. Suddenly he grabbed his chest in pain. “That death scythe blow was tough even for someone like me.”

I looked at Sebastian than down at the chain I had stolen from the Undertaker. The chain had circular pendants on it and each on was different. “The Undertaker, what is his goal?” I asked no one in particular.

“I cannot comprehend, but if you hold those funeral lockets, I’m sure we will meet him again one day. He did not seem to want to cause you harm, but I’d rather not run into him again,” He said before violently coughing. I looked at my butler, worried. “I am extremely sorry for my unseemly state. I have failed as a Phantomhive butler,” he apologized as he got down and bowed.

I was about to say something when there was a ship’s horn. I turned to see what could have been a rescue ship. I smiled. “Sebastian, I can’t have the Phantomhive family butler staying like this. Take a good rest when we get back to the manor. You did good today,” I said.

He looked at me a little surprised before speaking. “Young master. For you to say such a thing. I don’t wish to see a storm after this."
