POV: Lilly
I woke again in the morning. The sun was just climbing over the horizon and no one else was awake. I put on my light blue dress and made my way to the kitchen. I opened the cupboard and looked around. I found some oats so I boiled some water and made oatmeal. As I sat down and started eating the other servants came in.
"Good morning everyone," Bard said with a yawn as he entered. Behind him was Mey-Rin than an exhausted Finny.
Angela entered with a tray and Finny seemed to brighten up a little. "Ah, good morning," she sounded cheerful like the events that happened last night never happened.
"Angela, are you sure you should be out of bed?" Bard asked as she placed the tray on the table.
"I'm fine, sorry for all the trouble. My master would be most disappointed in my weak behavior in front of guests. He always insisted in curtsey first," her voice sounded sad and her face looked sad but I felt that it was not how she truly felt. It made me suspicious of her. She looked over at Finny who looked guilty and upset. "Are you alright? You look pail." She said as she raised her hand to touch his face.
Quickly he scooted away and against the wall and waved his arms around. "I'm sick, just a tinny touch of the cold. But you shouldn't get too close or you might catch it. Sorry, bye." He turned and ran out of the building and into the woods.
"For being sick he can sure run quickly," Bard inquired with his hand on his chin. Angela looked worried and ran and got a basket. She told us she was going to pick some herbs for Finny before running off into the woods.
A few hours later I was sitting in the dining room with Ciel eating sweets and drinking tea. Bard and Tanaka in his little form stood behind Sebastian as he served the tea. Mey-Rin and Finny suddenly ran in the room saying they couldn't find Angela.
"She went to pick medicinal herbs for Finny," I told them and they started to panic.
"She went all alone and there might be a demon hound out there," Mey-Rin said in a worried tone. Bard's eyes fill with realization and they ran out to go find her. I got up and went with them, ignoring the fact that Ciel called my name.
We walked around the fen yelling her name but got no reply. Suddenly Mey-Rin screamed and we all ran over to her.
"Mey-Rin, what is it?" Bard asked and she just pointed. The mist cleared a little to reveal piles of hay with legs and arms sticking out of them. I covered my nose with my sleeve hoping to block out the foul stench of rotting flesh.
The others were freaking out and I noticed something shine. I pointed and Finny said, "Hey look at that ring."
The others looked in the direction I was pointing before we all said, "It's Lord Barrymore's." A howl sounded and we all ran behind a boulder. As we peeked over it we saw a naked man with long silver hair and deep red eyes. He walked over to the lord's arm and sniffed it. He than moved it to the other side of the pile and sniffed it again.
"A trophy. So it really wasn't a demon hound that killed him. It was a human," Bard said in a hushed tone.
Mey-Rin put her hand to her nose as blood trickled from it. "What a beautiful specimen of humanity he is," She said, eyes locked onto the naked man.
"Did he have some sort of grudge against him?" Bard asked no one in particular.
"Maybe Angela asked him to do it," Mey-Rin said causing us to give her a look.
"Why would she do that?" Bard asked her.
Finny looked angry as he spoke. "Yeah he's right. Angela had nothing to do with this. Don't just go around accusing people," he almost yelled and we shushed him. The man looked over in our direction, sniffed the air, and licked his lips. The ground began to shake as the villagers came running at us in bathing suits.
