What is your name?

Lydia

How old are you?

21

What inspired you to write your first book?

Hmm, I never know what inspires me if I’m honest. I just start writing and then the words just start flowing and then all of a sudden I have characters and a plot and I’m like ‘Oh, how did that happen’. Can you imagine what would happen if I actually put my mind to something? Hah! I can’t, i'm too lazy. Nah, if I have to answer this question seriously, I’d say I get inspiration from music. I’m always singing along to Spotify (shameless promotion there.)I can’t write without a bit of music on in the background.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Virginia Andrews, she’s been mentioned before. She’s a legend! Maybe it’s because of the twisted incest scenes or maybe it’s just how she writes in general. Who knows? I have a whole shelf dedicated to her greatness and I’m always in the charity shops hunting down her books. Call it a secret hobby (fetish) of mine. But yeah, hands down my favourite author.

What is your favourite theme/genre to write about?

Horror, Gothic horror, dark romance, werewolf, teen fiction and non-teen fiction are what I like. I’m trying some humour with my newest book - Falling for my crazy stalker, I prob suck.

Do you see writing as a career?

Not really, but never say never. All my family are reading my books (ugh) and my dad is paying for one of my books to be self-published next year so I dunno, maybe...

If you could work with any author who would it be?

I wouldn’t say I’d like to work with anyone, more like sit in a room with the likes of JK Rowling or whoever and stare at them in awe for a few hours while they talk. I would say Virginia Andrews, but she’s dead.

Do you use real-life facts based on true stories?

Yeah, although half of its imagination (Werewolves aren’t real, even though we’d love them to be!) A lot of what I write has happened to me, especially some of the content in my horror books. But I won’t get into that too much ;)

Did you ever think you'd be, where you are right now?

You mean on Wattpad? No, not in a million years did I expect one read on my story or for me to be sharing my stories. I was so nervous putting my work out there, but yeah, I feel happy with my wattpad experience. Aside from the previous trouble i've had on here, I love it. It's like my second home.

What advice would you give to people who "run out of creativity" when writing?

Chill your wig out and relax. There is nothing worse than running out of creativity, but you aren’t a robot and need rest. What I tend to do is sleep a lot and drink my weight in tea (also smoke) Gah! Ignore that, Smoking is bad! ;)

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?

I get writers block when I’m tired, so I sleep and eventually the story comes back to me. But for major writers block I suggest taking a step back for a while and leaving it. You can’t write a book in a week. It takes real authors years!

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Write with passion and not for the votes, write for yourself and ignore those haters. Being popular isn't everything, so don't worry about it. We all had to start somewhere.

Anything fun about yourself you want your fans to know?

I talk to myself all the time. I have this imaginary psychiatrist called Norman, who helps me brainstorm and keeps my characters in line (They talk to me all the time) Where is the nearest loopy home, I have a room waiting for me!?

How would you describe yourself?

A quiet observer
