Song of the day is... i saw the sign by Ace of base :D

Thankyou Sarah :)

What is your name?

To my kids, I’m Mom. To everyone else, I’m Sarah with an “h”.

How old are you?

I’m 25 years young.

What inspired you to write your first book?

My first book was complete crap. I wrote it in high school and it was my imagination gone wild after reading Hawksong by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

This question is as hard to answer as “what’s my favorite book?”.

Um…I would have to go with Rachel Vincent. She has this way of writing her stories that just grabs you and draws you in. When the book is over, you’re left staring at the last page wondering what the hell just happened and when can I get my hands on the next book to find out.

What is your favourite theme/genre to write about?

Paranormal Romance.

Do you see writing as a career?

Eh. Yes and no. I actually want to be a high school English teacher. I write to get all the ideas out of my head. If I didn’t, I’m pretty sure I would go a little nuts.

If you could work with any author who would it be?

I’ve actually tried to do the co-authoring thing. Wasn’t for me.

Do you use real-life facts based on true stories?

Yes. I draw on a lot of my personal experience to fuel the emotional scenes in my stories.

Did you ever think you'd be where you are right now?

No. I actually thought I would be somewhere quite different from where I’ve ended up.

What advice would you give to people who "run out of creativity" when writing?

I don’t think you can ever run out of creativity. I think you can get drained to the point that you look at the computer screen, your keyboard, or even your college ruled paper and say, “I can’t write today.” When that happens, I say take a few days off, step back from your project, don’t think about it for a while. Let your mind reset itself because your own worst enemy is yourself.

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?

I do. I think at some point, everyone does. I’ve had days where what I write turns out to be complete crap and I have to scrap it. It’s disheartening and chucking the computer out the window is more appealing than writing another word. So I do exactly what I recommended. I take a few days off, read, watch movies, spend some time with my kids. I even try to talk it out if it gets to that point.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Practice makes perfect. Learn your grammar, learn your tenses. No one is going to enjoy a story that’s full of mistakes because it makes everything unattractive. I can’t tell you how many stories I’ve stumbled across on this website that have great premises, great plot ideas, but they’re ruined by misspelled words and crappy dialogue. It makes me sad to see that because there are so many writers here with promise.

Anything fun about yourself you want your fans to know?

I’m horrible at jokes. I don’t get them. I’m that person who hears a joke one day and only gets it three days later because I over analyze it.

How would you describe yourself?

I have a friend who keeps telling me I’m a teenager in a grown-up’s body with two kids. I spend a lot of my time building towers out of can goods, cleaning my house, and finding missing pairs of socks then doing much of anything else. I write when I can or whenever a random idea pops into my brain.
