What is your name?

Kate 

How old are you?

Seventeen.

What inspired you to write your first book?

I wrote The Accidental Tourists after I watched The Hangover, and my imagination kind of went wild.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I have two! JK Rowling, of course, is brilliant; she's one of the best storytellers in the world, I think. But I also like Jess Walter, because I read his book "Beautiful Ruins" just a little while ago and it was hilarious and touching all at once.

What is your favourite theme/genre to write about?

Romance! I can't help it! I'm a seventeen year old girl. Maybe I'll grow out of my romance-writing phase, but right now, it's my focus.

Do you see writing as a career?

I hope so. That would be awesome.

If you could work with any author who would it be?

I think JK Rowling would be fun to work with, if nothing because she has a British accent and those are cool.

Do you use real-life facts based on true stories?

My stories are sort of weird, mish-moshes of real things that have happened to me and stuff I've imagined up. In all my stories, though, there's a large element of truth.

Did you ever think you'd be, where you are right now?

What? Sitting on my couch? Or, like, on Wattpad? 

What advice would you give to people who "run out of creativity" when writing?

If you encounter the beast that is writer's block, you need to put your writing down for a while and go watch a movie or read a book. Really, anything to introduce yourself to new ideas; you never know what will end up sticking in your mind.

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?

I get writer's block so often, it isn't even funny. And there are a couple things I do to get over it, mainly watching reality television (the drama sometimes sparks ideas). And, as much as I hate to admit this, having a new crush always helps! Honestly, there's nothing quite as inspirational as fresh love!

Do you have any advice for other writers?

For the love of God, use spellcheck. Aside from that, just don't copy people. Please, use your own ideas; even if you think borrowing part of the plot from another story is convenient and easy, it's not only rude to the person who came up with the idea, but it stunts the growth and maturation of your own imagination.

Anything fun about yourself you want your fans to know?

Um... I can cross my eyes?

How would you describe yourself?

Shy. Painfully shy. Which is probably why imagination is so big.
